Those same cartridges were around back when PC CD-ROM drives were first coming out, and DVD-RAM uses them too. They didn't take off very well, even though it's a wonderful idea at protecting the CD, because it was a pain in the ass to swap out the CD that was in the caddy with another one.

You don't suppose those really sweet graphics had anything to do with the popularity either, did you? That's how Far Cry was able to fly off of shelves. The game's plot is a terrible rehash of the same old, "sole military superman gets caught up in a conspiracy involving some kind of non-human species" plot. Not to mention the game was Crytek's flagship, they've never made any other games.

I don't know about that. Have they even released the codename for their 64-bit chip? We're all aware that they reverse engineered AMD64 to make their 64-bit chips run under the same architecture, but they havn't even told us the name of the damned thing yet. 2005 isn't far away, so Intel better hurry up. They've got a lot of things to get hammered out with bug testing, chipset development, motherboard design, etc.

I havn't gotten a chance to play Wind Waker yet, but I assume it keeps in the same vein as past Zelda titles, just with Cell Shading for the "cartoonish" effect. I don't understand why that would be a turn off, I thought XIII was a pretty cool game, and I hope they release a sequal because the ending sucked.

XIII was based on a comic book series I believe, and the devs used Cell Shading to make it feel like you were playing a comic book. It's not a kid's game by any means, considering all the references it makes to the Jack and Bobbie Kennedy.
