Last I checked, CS:S will be available to everybody that has the game, from bronze to gold, and the cheapest version of retail. Not to mention that the ATI voucher people got in on the CS:S beta. First time I'd ever played Counter-Strike and I'm still a UT fan, thanks.
The vouchers are probably going to be silver, or some new hybred. Because as compensation for those of us that have been waiting for so long to get our game to test these video cards out, they gave all the voucher accounts the original Half Life, as well as just about every "offical" mod for it. Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Opposing Force, etc.
I read an interview with some guy who's writing a book about the development of Half Life 2, and he said that after the physics engine was introduced to the Source engine everybody spent about a month making random machines to play with the physics. Valve is bad, but this is 3drealms, they'll get back to work in a year or so.
eDonkey was targetted a few months ago, if you remember Sharereactor. It was similiar to Suprnova, except instead of hosting torrents it hosted just an ed2k link with a filename and the hash. Aparently posting the hash is an infringement.
Yes, and I'm one of them. I've had the voucher for about 10 months, and I still havn't gotten to play the game that made me buy the video card. If Valve doesn't release it on Steam, they better not force me to pay for shipping for the CD version.
http://www.howstuffworks.com/ has a pretty good explaination.
If you're too lazy, basically you get a big mass of plutonium and pelt it with pellets of uranium until it goes boom. It's basically a really big nuclear meltdown.
Doom 3 isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. You've got to give id credit with making the game scale back in a useful way. A friend of mine has a Geforce FX 5200 and he can run the game with a smooth framerate.
It matters about the operating system to quell the old joke "Yeah, but does it run Linux?"
This is still News for Nerds, Stuff that matters. We're all geeks here, so we should give a damn what OS it's running, reguardless of our choice of OS.
Yeah, those hospitals need to conserve as much money as possible. It's already so cheap to go there, and we can't forget every doctor has to own a Porche.
When did money become more important than the people's live you're saving?
I'm a hardcore gamer, and I wouldn't think about buying a Dell period. No AMD, none of my business, but that still doesn't make any sense. If this new system is aimed at the hardcore gamer, why wouldn't they include some bitch'en speakers with it? I'm sure they're making a killing on the computers as it stands now, they'd be able to drop another 20-30(???) bucks for some half-way decent speakers.
I'm just a gamer, not an audiophile, I have no idea how much better speakers would cost them, but it couldn't be that much.
This is a step in the right direction, now while the political jerks up in Washington are pointing their heads in this direction, where's the source code NASA promised?

George Bush LOOOOOVES that you can win a vote without the majority of the voters saying you're the best person for the job. Why? Well....

You obviously never saw Futurama.

Man, *BSD's dead is SOOOO last year. Get with the times. Now it's that interweb thing.
Of course Intel wants the internet to change, all the benchmarks that're published show AMD whipping their ass!
...it was funnier when it was in my head, honest.
HA!
They are non-profit
So is the RIAA... just because an organization is non-profit offically doesn't mean they're not a greedy organization.
Privacy is a form of freedom, and freedom is beyond ANY monetary value.
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ME!!!
Why couldn't they give ME that block to check?! WHY???
Time to polish the shotguns... if I had any.
HP still makes pretty bitchin' laser printers on their own.

Looks like someone isn't using the spell check for Thunderbird. Better hurry though, pretty soon it'll be Thunderfox due to a lawsuit from AMD.
LUCKY! Back in MY robot days, we had TWO LAWS!
0: There will be 0
1: There will be 1
And we were THANKFUL.
I'm not trying to say that the Military has no regard for human life>
Yeah.. I know that the best way to express your joy for a person by shooting them in the face.
Funny, why wasn't the DMCA used against Intel for reverse engineering the AMD64 format for processors?

Did anybody else notice that in the backview they've put a very large sound card, yet the computer only comes with 2.1 speakers?
