  1. Re:isn't this normal? on Internal Microsoft Email about Life at Google · · Score: 1

Like I said, Google has a lot of bright people, but they lack a lot of real world experience. Yes, and that's the best part. Look at the world around you and you'll realize what sort of experience you brag about. I'm sure you'd find someone like George Bush "experienced".

This story is sponsored by some pissed off soul who interviewed for Google but wasn't able to get through. Actually, he/she most probably enjoyed the free food and chocolates but was dejected at not being able to convert it to a daily treat. So much for the spite.

Oh my God. The attention-seekers! Write a blog-post about an irrelevant topic, and then write a slashdot story on it. Woah! And what's up with the mods who accept such stories?

Same at my institute as well. Open Source, Free Software, are not just buzzwords. People involved with these are treated as technical gurus in our campus, since they are the people who get things working with the most efficacy. Needless to mention, all our server use open source software, and all the sysadmins are hardcore linux fans.

I don't think he mentioned "playing" to be bad. On the contrary, he mentions that given a backyard, kids will be eager to the whole day. So it's the curiousity that he points to. Wasting time is when you don't have thoughts going in your mind.

Oops! I forgot the formatting here it is:
    [terminal1]
    mkfifo /tmp/foo
    script -faq /tmp/foo

    [terminal2]
    cat /tmp/foo

The real-time vigilance however would be one-way.

Another way to do a similar thing would be: [terminal1] mkfifo /tmp/foo script -faq /tmp/foo [terminal2] cat /tmp/foo However, the real-time vigilance would be on-say.
