I think he meant the PSOne, or was it PS1. It was the DVR that had a Playstation in it, and I think they only got released in Japan. I don't remember all the details, but it was a serious flop, they axed all the cool features before it came to market.
Didn't Caldera also buy the rights to DR-DOS from Novell and then sue Microsoft? If I remember correctly, it had somethig to do with the fact that Win 3.x displayed an "incompatible" error message when installing on top of DR-DOS vs. MS-DOS, I believe they won too (Caldera).
Put that same college student in a gas station. He sells a pack of smokes to a 17 year old, because he was to tired to ask for ID. That college student would be fined (a lot here in MI). I don't think video game retailers should be facing jail time for selling adult games to kids.. but fining them is reasonable.
No, but not to many 15 year olds can walk into a party store and buy a 5th of Jack. The law is there for a reason. Do you want a bunch of under age punks getting all drunked up and driving around (well.. this happens with adults too, I know)? Granted, underage drinking is a -much- more serious problem then "underaged video game playing", but if you at least make it a little harder for Jr. to run out and buy the latest nude/blood/nasty video game.. I think that's great. Something with adult content being sold to somone who is NOT an adult, that's why I don't see the problem with the law being passed. I have nothing against games with adult content (I own a few myself), but I'd never let my kids play them (or watch me play them) until they were old enough to seperate reality from fantasy.
I don;t see the problem with this legislation. It's just like the R rating at theaters, or the fact that kids can't buy tobacco until 18, or beer until 21. I certainly woulnd't want my kids to (at age 9) walk into a store and buy GTA 8: Be a Porn Star. When he's 18, or I decide to buy it for him.. fine.
I'm pretty sure that Best Buy employees are not commissioned sales people. They're hourly. But, I wouldn't be suprised if they get "perks" for pushing those extended service plans.
Nope, just a HUGE wing, tons of stickers (they add about 5hp a piece) and the biggest, most obnoxious sounding coffee-can exhaust pipe you can find. Extra points for "cutting" your own springs for a lower ride. To increase handling, make sure to get the oversized 18" rims with 1" low-pro tires, make sure you get a few spares, and keep that jack handy! Oh.. and don't forget to get the carbon fiber hood. Before you know it.. your Chevy Cav will be blowing the doors off of Z's, RX8's, Vette's, Vipers... you will 0wn the road..dude.
Star Wars Stratego...
If you guys (and gals) haven't seen "Triumph the Insult Dog's" "bit" at the Star Wars premier.. do yourself a favor and check it out.

Are there any good VNC or VNC'ish type clients that run on Windows (2k and XP) AND are usable over a dialup (56k) connection? We're currently running Altiris w/ carbon copy, it's so god awful slow it's un-usable. I'm not real concerned about encryption, as they are already coming in through a VPN.
Whoa.. shouldn't you be posting in "politics"?? And here I thought I was just going to see a bunch of Lucas-flames. To whoever modded this "insightful".. how about "offtopic"?

I have an older model back pack which is no longer available.. but I'd live and die by it. I've had it for 2 years, and there still isn't a single tear in it. I can't belive how much crap I can fit in it. It gets used every day.. been dropped many times and has travelled with me on every flight for the past couple of years. I love it!
LOVED the ITT reference. You couldn't be much closer to the mark. I (I can't believe I'm admitting this on/.) went to ITT for about 6 months many years ago for CAD. What a JOKE! It was glorified high school. I don't even bother putting it on my resume... to many people would immediatly throw it in the trash. I ended up quitting after my 3rd instructor (in 6 months) quit. Plus, I got more out of my high school CAD class than anything ITT had to offer. I hear them running adds on the radio for their new "IT" course. I laughed. Here's some advice: Don't waste your money on ITT Tech. Go to your local community college, it's cheaper, and you'll end up learning alot more. Just my 10 cents.
Really.. c'mon, what makes this game so much fun? I tried to play Sims 1 when it came out.. I just couldn't get into it. To much micro-managment and not enough "fun". However. my wife LOVED it. She spent countless hours playing that game... she'd play while talking to her girlfriend on the phone (while her girlfreind was playing) and they'd talk about what was happening with their sims. Jesus... it's pretend life. I finally had to uninstall it so she could get back to her chores:-) (that was a joke) Anyway... I just don't see the entertainment value in this game.
I really think it's safer to have 4 tires on the ground (or two). The idea of flying cars is a cool concept, but think of how many more fatal crashes we'd have. Gives a whole new meaning to "fender bender". You put that many people (or cars) in the air.. it's going ot happen. What about casualties on the ground when these things collide in the air???
Michigan and several other states in the U.S. do charge a 10 cent fee. I don't understand why all the staes here don't do it. You get it back when you take back the cans. You'll notice Michigan roadways clean of all aluminum cans... we take them all back! I usually wait until I've got about $40 worth sitting in the garage. It's a nice incentive.. and it works.
Infoworld is about the only tech related mag I have time to read.. it's weekly, certainly not "wearing rose colored MS glasses" and I find the articles informative and unbiased. Plus...Cringe! Oh... and it's my favorite price.. FREE.
Amen to that. I have refused to give into the pressure to buy my 5 year old son any of the Lego "kits". You know what he got for Christmas?? A good old fashioned standard box full of standard Lego's. I have fond memories of building all kinds of things. It was a challenge. Especially building cars with my brother, smashing them together on the kitchen floor, and then going back to the drawing board to make them stronger and last longer.:-)
oops, I think it was the PSX.

If they make a copy of me, and I had songs memorized, wouldn't the RIAA come and delete me???? What if my "brain image" ended up on Kazaa??? wow...

Ya.. Citrix invented it!

No way. LCD's still have a way to go (in both cost and performance) before they replace my 17" CRT.
