Whatever you do...
Dont get the buffalo WZR-HP-AG300h
I have an older WHR-HP54S which ball all accounts is the best router they ever made.
I can say that the AG300h is very flaky and technical support will pretty much tell you that they "wait" for updates and have no resolution to the problems people report except to send another router.
http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Wireless/WZR-HP-AG300H-Pro-firmware-still-in-alpha/td-p/79827
Im sure they will keep this one around.
It could prove to be useful like tax evasion laws.
Using the FCC the government could enter your house because they suspect a device inside is in violation of the law.
Brilliant.
I'm going back to the Stone Ages right after this post.
You can reach me by courier pigeon.
All of you tout security when over half of you have or have had spyware and viruses on your windoze machines.
The only thing that your neighbor cares about with your WIFI is if he/she can get online when they didn.t pay their bill or their Internet is down.
ok?
Oh and two of you want to search your neighbors hard drive for naughty pictures of the chick that lives there.
This argument is moot.
OS X is clearly UNIX based.
Clearly.
Whether it is like your preferred variant modern or old seems to be the constant argument.
Here is Apples UNIX "marketing"
http://www.apple.com/macosx/technology/unix.html
As for Linux not being certified UNIX 03.
UNIX 03 and POSIX standards are used as standards for commercial platforms to simplify compatibility.
Wow!
Its back up on the market and they appear to condone rooting your phone as long as you are outside the US.
The tethering app will only be available to people outside the US.
poor us!
We cant catch a break
I doubt it was pulled simply because its a tethering app.
Its likely because it promotes people to root their phones.
Start screaming when they ban pdanet...
Maybe,
However, if you have a chance to visit one of the Space Museums you should ask if they have a pair of gloves that the astronauts use. Try them on...
They aren't as tactile and mobile as you would expect. So if an item unexpected moves your reactions are pretty much tuned to respond to things falling not floating in an unpredictable path based on how it was bumped/etc.
Have a look at this link where as I mentioned in my original post. Items in the airlock bag weren't transferred properly.
In other words, they weren't all tethered once put into the air lock bag.
http://spaceflightnow.com/shuttle/sts126/081119fd6/index2.html
Having worked at NASA...
I'd like to clarify.
There are definitely difficulties when items are tethered, to a space suit or a vehicle while in space, however these are details which are resolved.
Astronauts use an MMWS (modified mini-workstation tool stowage) caddy. This keeps tools from floating away as well as has tethers.
You can see an image of the hooks used here.
http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/images/content/122027main_hooks.jpg
Additionally,
You can see a repair bag here.
http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/images/content/122016main_crack_repair_bag.jpg
Note the loops and elastic bands. This is how tools are contained in a repair bag.
The way the bag was lost was when astronaut Piper was pulling items out of the crew air lock bag. While searching the bag the tool bag (which was in side the larger bag) floated up and out and she lost control of it. It then floated away.
I may have been missed when transferring items.
In the video the bag lost looks like an MMWS.
Which is sorta like a utility belt.
Things like this happen...
Fault or no fault..

You can clean your keyboard quite effectively in the shower.
Simple use warm water and let the shower spray it.
I have done this for years with my keyboards.
The newer keyboards with foam hand supports and other features might not be as friendly with this cleaning method.
For those of you that are particularly Howard Hughes like you can purchase keyboard covers.
They can be washed or thrown away.
Maybe software companies need to hang a sign in the bathroom that reads...
All Employees must wash their hands before they return to work.

If routing around weather is an option, I can only wonder what percentage of passengers who will simply be stuck in another city after missing their connecting flights. It's been my experience that the airlines like to get you up and out of your destination city rather than rebook you at your option.
Choice may be good for the airline companies, but not for all the passengers.
Requiring businesses to secure their wireless networks is analogous to requiring businesses to lock their doors.
Locking your door is based on knowledge of ease of entry and possibly the intent of people in the area. There should be no mandate or law which states that a business should secure their network.
This is the responsibility of the company to be aware how and why to secure their network.
Furthermore, establishing a requirement for securing wireless networks puts government quarely in the middle of recommending standards which constantly change and are regularly exploited.
If anything... vendors offering equipment should be required to state that the device a person has purchased is unsecured and data on their network may be accessible by unintended parties. Similar text can be used at coffee shops and other WiFi locations.
BeDammit!
You have a company making railroad tracks named Tagart Trans-Continental. An inventive engineer named Hank Reardon designs a new metal that can improve your railroad tracks. You make deals with him to make your railroad tracks and major train parts from this metal. Its called Reardon metal.
Is it wrong for you as the train company to improve your product with this new metal exclusively?
Maybe there should be two sets of tracks and trains.
Lets argue fairly.
GETCPUID is the problem.
That single instruction allows the developer to check for enhancements.
What kind of video card do you have?
ATI? NVIDIA?
You see the problem?
Its up to the developer to decide how to code the software.
If there is truly an enhancement that they can use and still ensure product stability they SHOULD use it.
If Skype wants to right its wrong they could simply allow a user to set the setting and display a popup stating that the users AMD processor may not perform well with this setting.
Bedammit!
If you buy cheap discs they will fail.
I have noted some diss are so cheap that they are basically the dye sprayed on top of a plastic disc. You can scratch off the dye.
CHEAP.
Get Yaiyo Uden's or Mitsumi golds
They are sealed. with plastic (not another paint)
They work!
Bedammit
Apple is merely attempting to protect their new hardware/OS platform. By building in some TPM scheme, they have a demonstratable attempt to protect their technology. This provides a method for legal actions for any offical vendor that attempts to reverse engineer the Tamper Resistant code.
Dude...
XM radio and Sirius has a monthly fee
XM radio and Sirius pump you their stuff.
The solution I mentioned...
Is all your stuff, you can host your own MP3s with Orb.
BTW ppl GSPlayer is great for shoutcast streams.
I have been streaming audio via the internet on my pocket PC phone for over a year.
What do you need?
A Pocket PC phone, T-mobile unlimited data (GPRS)
an FM transmitter or tape adapter and links to online audio streams. I recently drove in Florida on I75 for 4 hours with only 4 signal drops!!!!
I was listening to Air America Radio BTW.. (www.airamericaradio.com) Worked like a champ!
You can also use ORB. This is a (currently nearly stable) service that allows you to stream your own MP3s from home... Now there are some things they need to get going.. but all in all its pretty cool. They also provide links to external content!!!!
Maybe I should post a how to guide.. but.. its pretty easy..

I personally liked Voyager. It was really one of the more "human" storylines. Out of all the series I think Voyage was the most complete of the series. It had some sci-fi, some historical presence and even some romance. Now most of the fandom of the Trek group could careless about this.
Give the characters guns and a tricorder and voila, you've garnered a quarter of the fans. Oh I forgot you must blow something up.
TNG was good because of Patrick Stewart. He brought a "royal" dignity to the franchise that wasnt there. I'm really not a fan of Johnathan Frakes. I liked his character more when Picard was constantly mentoring him in TNG.
Maybe its the Frakes factor...
Furthermore they balanced the characters extremely well in the TNG series. Ethnically, technically and socially.
In later years attempts to create another Data was clearly seen in Odo and other characters.
If I were to direct or write for them I'd make a Federation ship commanded by a robot or a cyborg.
Piting logic and sacrifice continually.
Questioning morality and humility.
Or..
Create a series of Federation vingnettes where there is no ongoing story but a myriad of concepts with mixed storylines.
Ok Im a photographer and this sucks. Sure I've know about this for years.
While we are at it.. we should inform national security about several other things that can be made into dangerous items.
Rubber bands (Useful to construct projectiles)
Ethernet cable, shoe string, belts, power cables (good for strangling)
lighters (duh)
alcohol (useful with lighters)
coke bottles (useful with lighters)
T-shirts (useful with lighters)
(If you didnt get the one above Molotov cocktails)
hmm
I just realized this list can go on and On..
I watched a lot of MacGyver, James Bond and Mr. Wizard
