Seriously, North Carolina State University (NCSU in Raleigh) is not the University of North Carolina (typically in reference to Chapel Hill). One is a school (that I happened to have attended twice) that focuses primarily on Engineering and Agriculture and the other is a liberal arts school down the road. Seriously, fact-check much? http://www.mse.ncsu.edu/CAMSS/bio1.html

omg! I had forgotten all about ActionQuake. I played that as recently as 2001. Ran as smooth as butter on anything and the action was even more fast paced than CS. Given the shear number or skins (we played all the bots as R2D2) and maps available (some quite creative) it might be my favorite FPS (given the nostalgia factor).
Side Note: But I won't resign myself to the waxing curmudgeon. While, imo, FPSs haven't gotten too much better over the years (save for BF2), RPGs have by far advanced.
I was just having an interesting conversation about this last night. One point that came up was if MMOs could be used for money laundering. Whatcha think?
Prince John: Such an unusual name, "Latrine." How did your family come by it?
Latrine: We changed it in the 9th century.
Prince John: You mean you changed it TO "Latrine"?
Latrine: Yeah. Used to be "Shithouse."
Prince John: It's a good change. That's a good change!
You may not want to be a baker or a dancer but I was quite happy being a care-bear tailor. That WAS the beauty of it, you could fight if you wanted a fighter, you could craft if you wanted a crafter. Both roles played an important part in the universe. Jedi's were scarce. Crafting was complex with bio-e, tailor, weapon smith, armor smith, chef, all playing niche roles. The crap now makes me happy I got out while I was still having fun.
btw, I really miss JTL. Any good online space sims out there?
Reminds me a lot of Morrowind. Sure, there are a lot of numbers and stats and levels and even three "classes" to choose from (combat, stealth, magic) but those only added minor tweaks to the character. The more you swung your sword, the better at long/short sword you became. The more you cast the better at casting. You also didn't have to kill X creatures to gain a level. Levels are doled out by gaining 10 stats points. The world is entirely open too so no series of predefined events (except for the main storyline). Too bad it is only single player though.
so, you answered my point exactly. Since the light in question is no longer unimpeded in a vacuum but traveling in the medium of a black hole, it would travel slower, no?
while I can see the opinions for both sides of the argument, and mine is still only an opinion, what I do want to clarify is the death thing. When you die in GW and no one in your part has resurrection (etc.), once your entire party is gone you will be automatically res'd at the nearest "temple" which should be either the entrance of the instance or the nearest exit of the instance. All the MOBs you killed on the the way to your death will still be dead.
Dude, that would be way much more funnier if it wasn't so true. With all the buy-outs, consolidations, and trading my two credit cards have gone through, the only way I can survive telemarketing hell is to only have a cell, no land line.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

well, that can be cute.

If the speed of light is a constant, how can, almost 6 years ago, physicists slow the speed of light?
it doesn't have to be a wmf file to be effected. jpg, gif, bmp, that use wmf headers can still execute code.
A. I'll tell you what I'd do, man, two chicks at the same time, man.
Should that discussion take place on Slashdot? Hell no.
There's a reason there is a Science and Politics section... for discussions just like this.
yeah, that definitely stopped them from coining the word Spam

same sort of thing here as well. I use fred@sanford.son
They used to report on those statistics but stopped after the news sites started quoting them as official sources.
Looks like he didn't make any extra queens.
You missed the point of the article. She's stating that it doesn't matter if you work hard, you're only judged on pedigree.
HE UNIVERSE:
