    Ever since I switched to firefox 1.5 with the newest flashblock thsi has been happeneding to me also, but I dont have the firewall you speak of.

    Are there any other causes of this? When I click on play the flash movies dont appear.

    Many times when I read a news story and I find it interesting I will check wikipedia to see if I can add some new info from the article to the entry there.

    Ony once had the new bleeding edge research not already been nicely integrated into the current article and sourced with a link to the academic paper or article.

    Well I'm pretty sure, and scholars are pretty sure, that a man named Jesus existed.

    I'm assuming in this case you meant that you didnt believe he was the son of god (probably because you dont believe in a God which makes the former belief harder to rationalize haha)

    I'm a non-practicing Catholic, but Catholic none the less.

    And I always have to point out that the Catholic Church supports the idea of evolution.

    It is only the biblical literalist/Evangelicals that have mounted an attack on scientific thought, ironically this was the Chatolic Church's bread and butter previously.

    Oh how the tables have turned.

    I'm really not sure how a thousands of years old, multiply-translated document with multiple authors across various time frames can be read literally...

    I think the solution would be to force people with laptops to move to the very back row of class.

    An often cited advantage of the PS2 goign into the last round was its backwards compatibility. While yes you could always keep both consoles hooked up there is a space and easy of use advantage to only keeping one, plus the possibility of ebaying or pawning off the old console to help pay for a new game.

    If you use arrays the compiler these days will ocnvert to pointer arithmetic. However it also now knows that it is an array and can make assumptions not available to it before allowing more code order optimizations in loops.

    These days if its something stupid like using one syntax over another, that optimization has been built into the compiler. The only real speed enhancements are going to be algorithmic. You know the old thigns that make sense, take stuff out of loops that dont need to be inside, compiler will do that so dont even bother making the change unless it increases readability. blah blah blah...

    I think an easier fix would be to force professors to get a teaching degree before they receive tenure.

    Professors are smart people put into teaching positions. Just because you are smart doesnt mean you can teach.

    I took an online survey (for pay) sometime last semester for Cartoon Network where they demoed a streaing video service.

    It was high quality audio and video. Worked fine in the survey, anfd I liked it and let them know.

    Glad they decided to go ahead with it.

    Of course when you take such surveys you technically arent allowed to talk about them, but I think its ok now.
