Despite being I-want-to-cut-your-tongue-you're-so-goddamn-noisy noisy, brazilians seemed like good people. However, I can't speak well of any blog or space by people in my country (well, we're near brazil... does that count?)
I find that here on Buenos Aires too. Although not next to each other, bussinesses of the same kind tend to group on the same streets. It's kinda nice.
It radiates its heat as infrared. Special coatings, such as those used on CRTs, help radiate better.
Anyone smart enough to "ask slashdot" should ask something more like
"what kind of connection could I get in the middle of nowhere?". Good geeks know satellite has bad latency.
Many women's groups in the US argue that any pornography is violent and demeaning to women by its very nature.
As long as you're talking about pictures of a man and a woman having regular sex, I can't imagine anything less violent. Unless they start a katana-fight afterwards.
I invite you to continue this discussion somewhere else. I find it suspicious that, just after I read the uncyclopedia article on W. Shatner, a random message on slashdot mentions him. I'd like to know why you are tracking my browsing and who you are.
This article made me feel stupid, I had to read the numbers like 5 times to realize the latter was bigger (didn't notice one was 300 while the other 200):P
I jthink what you mean by hardware encryption is either DRM (which you said you didn't want) or a dedicated encryption module (which for practicality's sake has to include software). If a PAL, GAL, PIC, cpu or else were used between the motherboard and the hard disk, you could have the speed of dedicated encryption with the versatility of reprogrammable encryption. Plus check if it was programmed to do what you expect it to...
If you want to repair a TV, VCR, power supply, etc. you either:
1.buy a book on TV, VCR, power supply, etc. repair or
2.use your general electronics knowledge
but the topics you mentioned don't seem to help neither for programming nor for repair.

Damn! The thousands of slashsdotters who will read the article and give him ad money! Oh wait...
I was expecting the first of a series of journals by RMS writing about his guerilla penguin expedition into India.

I find it depressing to read a website of a guy who built a radio, telephone central, etc. when he was 12.
I'm 15...
ahem

I have a friend that, after copying a band's CD, went to one of the members' house and gave him the money for it
