Nobody does. But what I've found after owning a 10GB ipod is, that I use it more to shuffle files between home and work. About half of the drive is uncompressed video files for design and compositing work. Of all the things I own, I think it's my favorite.:)
Apple hasn't announced anything. Sony on the other hand, did announce a plan to produce an ipod like device. That was this fall I believe. No actual product, just a thought that they might make something as cool as the ipod.
It looks to me that they want to kill the ipod the SAME WAY.
Remember, back in the `80's, when Polaroid sued all of the users of Eastman Kodak's Instant cameras for patent infringement?.... Huh, what?... You mean that didn't happen? nevermind.
Kodak lost the suit and had to offer the owners of the Kodak instant cameras, some sort of payment to take back the cameras. I think most users were given money toward buying another Kodak camera. Perhaps a Kodak Disc film camera?:)
All this discussion makes me want to watch "The Fox and the Hound". I haven't seen that since I was 10 or 11. I don't remember any songs or cute sidekicks. Just a good story of friendship. Actually, it was a pretty dark story for a 10 year old.
They also used computer graphics in "The Great Mouse Detective". What they did was take a wireframe of the animation and drew and painted cells on top of it... A Rotoscope of sorts, but the source was still CG. I thought "The Black Cauldron" also had some CG work, but now I'm debating that... Hmmmm.
As a resident of Florida, I take great offense to your letter. The punch-card ballot was developed by IBM. Are you implying that a system developed over three decades ago was instrumental in stealing an election? I voted in that election, I also learned in 1980, when I was 10 years old, how to use a punch card ballot. It isn't rocket science. Being that many of the residents of the Palm Beach area are retired people of New York, perhaps you are saying that those of a "third-world" state aren't competent enough to fill out a ballot?
As a slashdotter, I'm ashamed that you wrote that letter!
Paint Shop Pro? Yuck! I would rather go back to DeluxePaint on the Amiga. I would like to know more about the Paint application developed by NYIT back in the '70's. The Ampex AVA was based on it's code, but I haven't found a direct descendent.
I've heard some saying that the victors are the one who get to rewrite history. BTW I've got a dual G5 here at home and two Alpha servers sittig on the floor (not currently being used) at work. I intend to do something with the Alphas some day... Linux server perhaps? I'm just hoping that IBM is able to scale the PPC970 as fast or faster than they have stated. Intel needs someone to keep them on their toes.:)
It could be taken either way. Let me just say that I'm very happy that OS X only runs on the Mac.:) I'm really enjoying my dual 2Ghz G5 and I have Panther on order. And I'm not really worried about the article. I don't use Word or Premiere, and programs that didn't work well on my 2 year old G4 are screaming now! (Lightwave 7.5, Discreet Combustion)

You sound as if you don't approve? At least they don't have a trio of Apple Interns doing commercials. And let's use some logic here. What in the hell is Dell thinking? Imagine the liability of having three interns going out on a road trip in a company vehicle. The van could have stalled out on a railroad crossing, or they might have run into Bill Clinton!

And exactly how long have you worked with SCO? It's not like SCO has done anything to try and stop any possible infringements. In fact, they seem quite giddy about it.

Mmmmmmm, Romana. I think I was about 12 or 13 when WPBT in Miami broadcast Dr. Who in the early `80's. I was hooked. I remember Starlog magazine had a episode guide. I really miss those days.

And TOS was actually CP/M 68K. Where I work, we have a doppler radar that runs on an Intel based PC with CP/M and GEM. If you didn't know the hardware, you would swear that the radar ran on an Atari.:)

I thought when a star dies it expands in a super nova, and consumes all in it's path. If true, this means that before Sun shrinks, it will take Microsoft, Apple, IBM and other with it, leaving only the Commodore PET and the Apple I.
Actually, the more I think about it, that wouldn't be so bad.:)
How many times are you going to post this same stupid message? If seen it for about two years now, it's some sort of ancient Microsoft Form Letter from 1997.
An 8600/300? I doubt that you even know what that means. PPC604's kicked ass in their day.

On your next paper, you need to provide more of your sources. :)
You get a D+ in Amiga History.
A2000 Desktop was all 16bit. (year 1987)
A3000 Desktop had 32bit datapaths to the memory. (year 1990)
A3000T was a tower version of the A3000.
I have just about every Amiga except the AGA models
A1000
A500 X2
A2000
A2500
A600
A3000
I just need space to set them up and play with them.
You people all need to learn who Jay Miner was.

Disney has a system called CAPS. It's a computer based ink and paint system that I believe was developed in the 80's... By PIXAR... Ed Catmull anyway.
The Disney film "The Black Cauldron" made use of 3D generated elements. "The Great Mouse Detective" I believe is another one.
And are you a avid listener to Art Bell's show?

NT and XP are not based on DOS. I'm a Mac Zealot and I know that much. Go back to your telnet session.
