No, it's just that arrogance is always unfounded, and always grating, combined with the fact the "free entertainment" isn't exactly a rallying cry for the ages.

That's not exactly the same situation. The US is not at war with Iraq, at least not in the same sense the OP was talking about. If we were, then the military could just ride full bore over everything and finish up quickly. The goals dictate the strategy, and the goal in Iraq right now has nothing to do with winning a war.

That's not to say going to war with China would be a smart move. It's more akin to a classic blunder, as I understand it.

That wasn't said, although I can see how, if you go in with the mindset that you will find some way to bash Bush in anything, you would infer it.

The point is, in China, that's all there is to be had. That's certainly not the case in the US.

You kind of ran away with the analogy in an attempt to make it inappropriate, but you forgot something basic about these cards. They are targeted to very specific people who are looking for the best performance. If you did nothing but land speed tests, 33% more money for a 10% higher top end would indeed be worth it.

Also, the 300 to 330 FPS comparison is flawed. With many modern games, the quality of the effects scales upward with the power of the GPU. It's not just that the games will run smoother, but also that it will look better.

All that said, I'd never buy it.
