"See earleir/. stories on this topic for more details" doesn't count as citing your references. You made assertions which were challenged, and apparently you can't back them up. You are a bigot and a bad debater.
You don't need anything other than HTTP to support applications that don't require a constant connection. The redirect-after-post technique does what you're looking for. It allows the browser view to always reflect model state, which is (or should be) the end goal.
The crap they've pulled? Like selling their software? Too fucking bad. I don't grudge people success. Even phenomonal success.
I know your attitude sells big here on Slashdot, but that don't confront me. They help decide who the next leader will be, and I help decide, and so does everyone else that participates in the process.
Maybe you'd better try and remember that your political opinions aren't objective fact.
Wow, you take shit way too fucking seriously. Relax a little. Operating systems are but a tiny, non-critical part of life. They are morality-neutral, despite the impassioned craziness of RMS. They just make a computer function. The fact that the most popular operating system on the market doesn't behave the way you (and a tiny, tiny sliver of the world's computer users) want doesn't mean it represses the people of the world.
So are you suggesting that the earth will stop rotating at some point in the next 24 hours? If you're not suggesting that (and you'd better be prepared with extraordinary proof), then you're engaging in mental masturbation. How very useless.
Turning off bluetooth will make it very hard to use my bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Wireless is already off.
I was actually thinking there was something with the bluetooth, because it refuses to keep a connection with my mouse. Maybe it's time for a trip to the genius bar, get some use from my warranty.
By your logic, the phrase "fingering is believing" is also a paraphrase of the story of Thomas. Mind if I attribute it to you since you inspired me to discover it?
Capitalists like people working for them. They profit from other's labor. Profit is the whole of being to a capitalist (at least from a labor perspective.)
Communists like to work for other people (or they'd better learn to) because other people live from the fruits of their labor. No one profits (except those in charge, but that'll just be kept hush hush. After all, we're all equal, comrade!) (Sorry for the cynicism. Prove it wrong.)
People that enjoy working can be found in all walks of life, subscribing to all philosophies.
No one needs to keep shit in mind, son. Sony doesn't own the market, and it's starting to look like they won't own this generation, either. Such is the fate of the complacent.
Of course, I could take Ken Kutaragi's bullshit to heart like you seem to, but I know better than to believe a guy that won't stop lying in public.
I'm only replying to point out that nothing you cited as a reason to have a hard drive is particularly compelling. I can make a game better, but it can't make a game, if you see what I'm saying.
1) Karaoke. Laugh all you want but that's a killer app.
Snicker, snicker, snicker. Every console since the Sega CD has been capable of doing Karaoke. That's a great feature, for people that don't play games.
2) Motion detecting controller. This truly adds some interesting abilities to games you could never have before. Consider the ability to "lean" as you go around a corner on a bike. The possibilities are endless and it's truly cool.
Yeah, let's ask Nintendo about those possibilities.
3) Downloadable content.
Yeah, let's ask Nintendo and Microsoft about that.
4) STANDARD HARD DRIVE.
Well, if it worked for the original XBox...
5) Integration with a portable unit (PSP.)
Too bad it doesn't integrate with a portable unit that doesn't suck.
You're pretty much dead wrong. You shouldn't rely on anti-Microsoft zealots for technical information about Windows. Window manager in the kernel indeed.
Mythbusters is full of shit approximately half the time. I'm not saying that about any particular case, just that they rely on empirical evidence obtained under conditions that frequently don't match what they proclaim to be testing. They are popular entertainment, not a physics authority.
Simply dismissing it as fear is the zealot's cop-out, since (almost by definition) a zealot considers his opinions to be objective fact, and he needs to rationalize why other people don't see it that way.
Personally, I've noticed simple preference to be why people would ignore a given FOSS package. It's not hard to see how that works - FOSS packages tend to be designed using baroque interface methods that are preferred only by hardcore 'elite' types who like to lord their 'mastery' over others. The general population likes the consistency and ease that tends to be available in propietary software. The mish-mash of different implementation metaphors and the domination of command line interfaces in the FOSS world just turns a lot of people off.
Sorry this turned into a rant. I just can't let something so simple-minded stand. Personally, I like FOSS and I use it in my work and personal life. I just know I'm an exception.
Shhh. Here on Slashdot we like to pretend that the world revolves around the twin pillars of technology and socialism.

Somebody's boring pet project didn't get funded this, methinks.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Too many words to read. I'm not in the mood for stories. Your summary indicates a reversal of fortune. Doesn't that negate your original point?
By your logic, the phrase "fingering is believing" is also a paraphrase of the story of Thomas. Mind if I attribute it to you since you inspired me to discover it?
Well, people also like pretty things. Wii is a pretty machine with pretty little games. Linux is kind of ugly.
Read back over your own story - Andy makes stupid decisions. Looks like staying poor is his own damn fault.
Let's get this one straight once and for all:
Capitalists like people working for them. They profit from other's labor. Profit is the whole of being to a capitalist (at least from a labor perspective.)
Communists like to work for other people (or they'd better learn to) because other people live from the fruits of their labor. No one profits (except those in charge, but that'll just be kept hush hush. After all, we're all equal, comrade!) (Sorry for the cynicism. Prove it wrong.)

If you're not trolling, I'm actually amazed at how insecure you really are. It's cool, it's not like I cared about you anyway.
I don't understand.
Obviously. Capitalists aren't about the joy of working for someone else. People that enjoy working for someone else tend to be communists.

A true Slashdotter hates all intellectual property.
I'm a tourist.
I can admit when I'm wrong. I'm wrong. I apologize.
I trust my memory too much sometimes, and I should have done the research before I hit submit.
Mod appropriately.
You're pretty much dead wrong. You shouldn't rely on anti-Microsoft zealots for technical information about Windows. Window manager in the kernel indeed.
What will you give me for it? I'm partial to poultry based products.
Only on Slashdot is it considered insight to realize a company wants to make a profit. I would think that would be fairly obvious.
Mythbusters is full of shit approximately half the time. I'm not saying that about any particular case, just that they rely on empirical evidence obtained under conditions that frequently don't match what they proclaim to be testing. They are popular entertainment, not a physics authority.
