I began running 5ks recently and the watch consistently reports my distance as 100 - 150 meters short of 5k when I finish. It is also fairly inaccurate in reporting my current pace particularly when I've turned a corner or made any kind of deviation from a straight line really. I've been running long enough at this point to know when I'm running a 9 minute/km pace (yeah, I'm a turtle) but my watch will occasionally say I'm running a 7 minute km.
I'm not surprised. I'm sure they make most of their money on government and corporate contracts. Here in Georgia, at one time, they had the contract to supply the government with office supplies.
I recently switched from Verizon to Cricket to save some money and went from a Galaxy S4 to a Galaxy Express. The S4 was snappy, no lag opening apps, unlocked right away and so on. The Express would often lag switching apps or even unlocking the screen. When I had it synced via bluetooth with my car stereo and I would skip a song, it would take 3 or 4 seconds to actually skip, where the S4 was instantaneous. I know it seems petty, but when you're used to speed, it's hard to go back. I ended up biting the bullet and getting a Nexus 5. Life is good again.
I'm no hardware expert so the following question isn't rhetorical. How hard is it really to capture the audio output going to your speakers? Unless they put some kind of encryption into them like with HDMI, it seems to me that they are a little short sighted to say the least saying this is non-piratable.
I was in a similar situation. My parents always told me I was so smart because I could do some things on the computer so I pursued a career in IT. Most miserable 10 years of my life. What was once a hobby, became a chore that I wasn't any good at because I only enjoyed doing the things I was interested in. If I wasn't interested in it, like networking, servers, and such, I completely lacked motivation to do it. I've since found my passion and am on my way to working in that field.
No, but I own a small shop with a couple of rental computers and I'm seeing more and more (young) people who don't even know access the web on anything other than their smart phone let alone write software and build a circuit.
In theory it gets atrociously bad politicians out of office. I've never seen it work in practice though. They did it to Cynthia McKinney here in Georgia but then the voters in that district got stuck with Hank Johnson who thought Guam was going to tip over so I don't think they really came out ahead on that one.
It's technically possible. War Thunder just arrived for PS4 and there is cross-platform gameplay. PS4 players are easily denoted in-game by the * next to their name which doesn't do them any favors since the general consensus is that keyboard/mouse controls are far superior to controller.
When you've got billions of dollars in the bank, who cares if what you're doing is illegal. The worst that will happen to large corporations is some fines numbering in the millions which is peanuts to them. Now if you or I did this, we'd be out of business.
Self-cleaning sounds a whole lot cooler and is a better marketing term, but it's not really self-cleaning, it just repels things. Not really the same thing.
New violins don't have cool names like Stradivarius though. That name is so epic, it could make anything look or sound high brow and expensive. Stradivarius Coffee, home of the $75 latte. Stradivarius Bounce House, let your kids bounce around for only $125/hr. Stradivarius Water, Anything less, will dehydrate you, only $49.99 per 8oz bottle made out of the finest Stradivarius plastics. With a name like that, people will pay anything.
He insists that since scientists just attribute whatever they can't explain to "random chance" (Can't recall ever hearing one actually utter those words) there must be an intelligent designer. Yeah, I'm dropping the class and complaining to the department head. 'Merica.
Middlemen aside, everyone always seems to forget that you have to price a product at what the customers are willing to pay for it while still making a profit for yourself after paying royalties, salaries, etc.... If the artists feel they aren't getting paid enough through this medium, they need to branch out to other mediums and find other ways to make money on their product. They can't just say "I want X amount of dollars each month or X amount for each play" and expect any sane businessperson to take them seriously without factoring in the costs associated with offering the service.
