#1 There has been no SCO code proven to be in the linux kernel, and there's reason to believe there isn't, or it wouldn't matter anyway.
#2 If there is SCO code in the kernel, the OSS community will rewrite it faster than you can say "Darl McBride"
#3 Sure, MS is cheaper than $700, now.
Bottomline, don't worry about this, and just laugh at SCO.
On the ACT, they just make you put tape over the IR port. On the AP tests (when I took them), they didn't do anything, just spaced us really far apart. All HP 48s have had infrared ports, for about ten years I think.
Strange people. Downloading movies off the internet is not even worth the time you spend on it - you're better off going to the cinema for the real experience.
Getting a camcopy or a DivX complete can take days - if your time is worth anything (mine is), it's cheaper to get a couple tickets for a real cinema, or rent/buy the DVD. Goes better with girls too, they do not appreciate watching movies off the computer screen:)
It can take days? The only time you need to spend for downloading a movie is a few minutes searching. Then it's up to you to press the download button and do something like work, or go to school, or sleep, while it downloads. I'd say spending 5 minutes finding a copy of Legally Blonde 2 is better spent than going to the theater, paying $20 for two people to see the movie, watching 20 minutes of ads, then realizing the movie is crap anyway. I do agree with you about DVDs though. Usually when I download a movie and it's good enough, and it's on DVD, i'll go out and buy it. The quality is much better and you get all the extra special features. IMO I think the MPAA has more to worry about DVD burners than P2P at this point in time.
Oh yeah, and the girls. That's what "Video-Out" graphic adapters are for. Additionally, she's already at your house;) Plus, she thinks you're a hard ass because you're ignoring intellectual property rights. I just don't see how the theater can compete:)
Yes. Whether or not you have stable packages depends on your ACCEPT_KEYWORDS setting in/etc/make.conf. Say, you want stable on x86, you do:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86"
Or, you want unstable packages (like me:):
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"
It's pretty simple, really. As some worthless anecdotal evidence, I have never had a problem with the stable packages, and i've been using Gentoo for nearly a year. As for the unstable, most of the problems I have had are build/configuration errors.
Your P2P app posts a list of songs you have to the public. They look at the public list. It's no different than setting up a bootleg cd market in the middle of town square, at least privacy-wise;)
Yeah, i'm glad afx and squarepusher aren't on there. But then again, I own a lot of their cds anyway. About the closest thing to electronic on there was "Idioteque," which is a great song:P
Pick up the phone, listen to the telemarketer's pitch, then say "Oh, that sounds like a great deal. Too bad I'm about to kill myself." It's worked so far for me!
Now is the time to boycott the RIAA. It's not that difficult, really! If you're going to buy a new cd, check against this list. You'd be surprised how much good music doesn't belong to those labels. If you MUST get that Avril Lavigne CD, buy it used. Sites like SecondSpin have a fairly large collection, or you can get it off ebay, or at your local record store. If you can't manage to find a used copy, pat yourself on the back. You found a CD published by an RIAA company that is actually good. That surely has to be a sign of the end times. What do you do then? I guess you'll have to exhibit self-restraint. Or if you have a peg-leg, resort to less-legal means.
The point is, don't let the RIAA get a dime of your money.
/me waits for obligatory comments about boycotts on/.
Some website actually documents all of microsoft's "innovations." So far they have concluded that MS has invented Clippy, Microsoft Bob, and maybe the laser mouse. Funny, considering when Bill Gates speaks he says the word "innovation" at least five times.
If it went both ways, it'd be bisexual. That's one happy mouse!
When they're going to turn this into a reality TV show? The Real Cyberspace
813 posts and still no comments about Fox News! Incredible!
Just wait until they come after you for infringing copyrights :p Oh wait, that's Fair Use. ;)
You're not alone. Unfortunately, I don't think Canada is far enough.
I'm guessing Multistate Anti-TeRrorism Information eXchange. I just can't wait until matriXP.
So how do I mod SCO +5 funny?
But then the terrorists have won!
According to their Linux IP FAQ, it affects all architectures.

I'm not sure if they were around in the 1800s, but the Flat Earth Society still believes that the earth is flat. :p

Sounds like someone watches the Daily Show and doesn't give credit where it's due :o)

I knew ripping MC Hammer's Greatest Hits would come back to haunt me.

You missed a great special on the Daily Show. It was about the hottest job's in the current job climate: bankruptcy lawyers and repomen.
unfortunately it still reeks of "I-look-like-netscape"ocity (a problem plauging mozilla).
Hmm... I wonder why that could be...
Sorry man. You missed the boat.
