Xbox FS could be a genuine name, a few months back I had an email from a GameSpot affiliated company asking if I wanted to participate in a questionnaire about "next generation consoles" (I guess I forgot opt out of emails from GameSpot affiliates).
It didn't specify which next gen consoles in the email but most of the questions were about the next Xbox and what I thought of potential names, it also offered a potential logo which was like the current X logo but wrapped around a sphere.
The other names that I can recall were Xbox HD, Xbox 360 and Xbox 247. Xbox 2 and Xbox Next weren't offered as options.
Unfortunately Quake 3's SMP support is buggy and I think it has been removed from all recent patches.
I had a dual P3 system back when 1Ghz P3s were the best and the performance difference with SMP on in Quake 3 was something like 5fps, which made no real difference to the gameplay.:(
Too true, also unless Alienware do special things to their BIOSes the first time the battery goes on the systenm clock the machine will be back to default clocks.
I think we would have a more civilised society in the UK if we really did something to stop the massive drinking problems the youth of today have. I've just come back from the local town centre and it's not a pretty sight in some areas even at only 10pm!
When did getting completely pissed on a Friday night and getting into a fight become the main form of entertainment for the majority? There's plenty of things people can do to entertain themselves that doesn't involved getting rat arsed.
This reporter was possibly a little hasty earlier and would like to reaffirm his allegiance to this country and its human president, after all it is the best system we have, for now.
I bet he uses that password for everything, time to see if I can use it to download a finished copy of HL2 from his machine. Then I can play the finished thing while Valve delays the game again for another year! Meheheheheh!
Not to mention last I heard everyone has to authenticate through Steam no matter how you acquire the game.
I wonder what this will do to people who want to play HL2 in say 10 years time. I mean if I put my old Doom 1 floppies into my machine the game works flawlessly, but will I be able to play HL2 if Steam no longer exists?
I'm sure a few newly added scenes that set up the next trilogy would help the DVDs sell in massive numbers.
That said maybe Lucas plans on re-releasing the original trilogy again in a few years time with new footage so that he can sell the original trilogy again! I've already got 3 copies on VHS... pan & scam, widescreen and SE... They should just give Lucas a money printer and save some time!
I said that when I got the Power Glove, unfortunately I changed my mind after trying to play Rad Racer like that kid in The Wizard and failed miserably. Plus it made my weakling arms tired...
I think you have to take the "laziness factor" into account as well. How many people will want to re-write their apps to use a different DB if they've been using MySQL for the past 2-3 years?
I use an abstraction layer for all my database interactions (where I can) so that if we ever change DB platform all I need to do is swap out the abstraction layer rather than going through all the code to fix all the MySQL specific calls.
That said we have a few of apps that are MySQL only a significant amount of time would be needed to "fix" them to use PostgreSQL or other DBs. I think if MySQL are genuinely planning on moving away from GPL stuff they are banking on the laziness factor to pay for it.
:) It's usually for water cooling, you can get water dyes that show up under a UV light. There are some graphics cards, motherboads and hard drive cables that come with bits that will show up under UV too.
It helps raise your frag count at LAN parties... because everyone always forgets to bring sunglasses.
It's a 256Mb card, the 512Mb cards will probably be out during the autumn "refresh" of nVidia's and ATi's ranges.
I'm not sure how one could confirm that there is no compression except by what John Carmack has said ultra mode does.
Also when you compare Ultra mode to High detail mode the image quality is definitely higher suggesting that there is no compression (or less compression at least).

I thought they meant Macromedia Cold Fusion was back from the dead.

Thank you, you're the only one who got it. :(
It's when those aliens find Voyager and kit it out with lots of death rays and send it back to Earth in search of its creator you have to worry...
Lol! How is this trolling, it's funny!
What!?!? No side talking?!?!
I would guess this means the end of their "quirky" Bluetooth products like the Bluetooth remote controlled car (here) or the chat pen (here).
Well the bad guy on season 3 of 24 had an OQO and he used it to escape from Jack Bauer by using it to show him floor plans and escape routes.
So if you're an evil megalomaniac on the run the OQO is surely the palmtop for you!
So the password to get into his account is gaben?

I saw this mouse on Microsoft's site last week, it was not "unveiled" today.

Sounds like there's hope for Darth Malak after all!
Yeah, I'd like to have RTFA but it's already down. :(
No, just Jar Jar. You see while you thought the whole saga was about Anakin it's really about Jar Jar as the final trilogy will show you.

OK, here you go: ABXZone
He doesn't explain how he did it but there's various pictures and a screenshot at the end of the thread of the software integrated into MBM.

Plus I'm sure there are some case modders out there who have red, green and blue (and UV!) lights in their case controlled by software.
