Have you even tried the newer catalyst drivers, or are you just talking out of your ass? I moved from an nVidia GeForce 4 ti4600 to an ATI x800 Pro a few months ago. The drivers were NOWHERE near as bad as people led them to believe. And, if you don't have a brand new nVidia card, the newer detonators significantly slow down the performance of your older card.
I've yet to see any current evidence that ATI drivers are any worse than nVidia drivers. In the past? Without a doubt. But now? Not so.
Or, you could always use your first amendment rights to complain that the only viable wireless carrier in your area has hamstrung the only bluetooth phone that it offers.
Yes, but for entirely different reasons. It really sucks when you're playing a video game and accidentally tap the windows key. Especially when something is trying to bite your knee caps off.
97% success rate means that 1 in 30 people needs to have an ENHANCEMENT. it doesn't mean it is DAMAGED. there hasn't been a single person in the United States who has gone blind from Lasik, and those who do require glasses after lasik can easily have an enhancement after 6 months. For people with pupils as large as mine (~8mm) and -7 prescription, LASIK was the only option outside of a complete eye transplant. Now that they got me close enough, if I DO end up needing an enhancement, they can use Wave Scan to touch it up and voila, but so far, it's looking pretty good. I had 20/25 vision the week after my surgery and I'm sure it's gotten better. I do have increased light sensitivity, but that is supposed to go away with time. I may always have halos, but it's worth it. They're no worse than wearing contacts anyway.
Are you kidding me? It was the best $2,400 I've ever spent on anything, ever. I can see as well now as I could with my glasses, where before I had ~ -7 prescription. I had such a bad astygmatism and such horrible prescription that contacts were virtually out, and I despise glasses, especially when they break at 5am on a work day and you spend 30 minutes crawling around on the floor unable to see a damn thing looking for a lense your cat batted under the TV stand
*takes a few deep breaths*
The fact that they allow you to finance that $2,400 over 12 months with no interest was the best part. $200 a month for a year isn't much of a problem at all, especially when you're 21 and get to look forward to 20 years without glasses AND a 300$ yearly "new glasses+lenses" fee.
I'm certainly not going to try to argue with you about most people wanting the persistent worlds, especially since I have no experience with it at all. All I know is that I absolutely adored NWN and the default story lines, the depth, and the way everything worked. I also genuinely didn't feel that the engine was all that bad...hell, you pump your resolution up through the roof, and those rough polygons actually did look rounded, so it wasn't that bad (disclaimer: I have admittedly poor eyesight, even though I had LASIK done a few weeks ago to correct what they could).
In any event, some people claim it was a disappointment, but I thought it was brilliant. I still feel it is the best RPG released to date for the PC, and only slightly behind SNES masterpieces such as ChronoTrigger, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy 3(6) (and possibly the PSX FF7).
Indeed. I absolutely adore my iPod and take it with me everywhere. I do not hate Apple, unlike most of my PC-centric software engineering brethren. I feel that Apple has a niche and it fills that niche extremely well. The reason I don't own one (and probably never will) is that that niche caters to those who desire a pre-produced, non-gaming-capable tool for "productivity". Not only do I NOT want to be productive (as evidenced by the 2000$ I just dropped to get up to speed for Doom 3), but I want to have absolute control over everything by building it myself from scratch. It's just my thing.
Now that the stage has been set, I get to my point. mliu is absolutely correct. If this were any other company (especially m$), people would be going berserk. It is my hardware, and, regardless of the law, I should be able to do whatever I want to do with it as I wish to do it. If Apple wants to constantly play cat-and-mouse by changing their software to break Harmony, then fine, that is their right. But by cheering Apple on as they sue the pants of Real, you're hypocritically sacrificing your philosophical beliefs just because you like who is getting the shaft. Not very respectible at all.
Yes, but the majority of Doom 3 users are not going to accept hardware that won't run their game. Look at how many of us ran out and bought new hardware just so we could play it. Creative would be hurt by this far more than Doom 3 would, even if Creative has greater market share.
Err, yeah, definitely didn't mean to hit submit there.
Anyway, I wonder if anyone has ever taken the time to poll people and find out what "Room Temperature" is actually considered to be and mapped out the answers, like the Dialect Survey Map. I'd guess people in Miami have a much different definition of room temperature than people in, say, Bangor.
No one on this planet is. All you can do is decide for yourself. Kind of why I was asking the above question. I took a giant leap in the discussion while everyone else was taking normal steps. My bad. I've just had this discussion a few times before and it always ends up going this direction, so I figured I'd just save some time. Ah well:]
I'm as anti-neoconservative as the next ultra-left-wing liberal, but lets maintain a sense of reality here. Just because they're pointed towards fascism doesn't mean they're walking towards it. I may despise these "we dictate the proper way to live your life" philosophies, but I'm not going to agree with this just because it makes for a wonderful soundbite. Being so consumed with hatred and anger just makes you look like a crazy liberal wacko - and makes the rest of us look the same way in the process. Remarks like these do more harm to our position than the right ever could.
That doesn't mean they're not going to get any kickbacks from the contracts we handed out only to American companies to fix the Iraqi infrastructure.
The oil argument really does ring hollow, even for me, but that doesn't mean that the current administration isn't going to get some nice christmas presents from the CEOs of the corporations who got those contracts.

Funny, around here, 68F is considered room temperature...

You're not qualified to decide for yourself what is appropriate for you to hear? O.o
That's just an excessive waste in energy which can be bad on your knees if done for prolonged periods of times. Perhaps a skiing motion would be best.
Apparently side steps or nonsteps also constitute steps backwards.
:O
I'm just as confused as you are

That's not true, after 3 years it'll be perfect for you to setup as a router, file server or snort box...
The Prius has had this for at least one year...and I believe it's closer to 3 years.

Even God can't handle 92Tbps
And if it doesn't work, we're all just going to sit down and have a good long cry together.
(I understand the logic, but I really like contingency plans...)
Moo indeed.
Ha ha!
Stop that.
