  1. Why is everyone so hell-bent on rocket fuel?? on NASA Holds Competition to Develop Space Vehicles · · Score: -1

scramjets or some rocket last stage (hidrogen/oxigen, for example, for ecology's sake) could work.

  3. My father flew Airbuses on Airbus Plans to Expand Cockpit Automation · · Score: -1

My father was a Jumbo instructor captain. For a while he flew two Airbus models, and he often mentioned that pilots called them the philosophy planes; "Why did this happen?" "Why has it done this?" "Why has this lit up now", etc... Crews with thousands of commercial jet hours were left wondering what the hell went on with the fly by wire systems. He often stated he wanted real wire linkages to override the damn computer if he felt he should. That was precisely why he was paid the huge salary he received! He often said that the one thing he did'nt trust were systems designed by software engineers, *who were NOT required to be pilots*. It just ain't the same if there is a glitch in a drawing package VS a glitch in an avionics system!

  5. Antec stuff usually is very good VALUE. on Silent 500W Power Supply · · Score: 0, Informative

Disclaimer: no relation to ANTEC, just a pleased customer.

I personaly own three ANTEC cases, and I must say they are GOOD! All three cases are in a SOHO, not very large, and you just don't hear them.
The ARIA ( my personal favorite) is a SFF micro ATX case that lets me put in MY choice mATX mobo, micro, and cooler.
It has an external 5,25" bay with a spring loaded trapdoor to allow the installation of any unit without regard to the color, since once the tray is closed, it is fully hidden.
The whole thing has ONE thumbscrew to open, the rest being spring tabs. It can house up to three internal drives, has a built in card reader, it includes an optional rear slot cover fan, rubber spacer screws for mounting HDD, plenty of power headers, 120 mm. silent fans, plenty of screws, standoffs, metal brackets for multiple internal configurations, and more.

    All for about $90 / 80.

I haven't pulled out my SPL meter, but the thing is very, very quiet ( one LJ4+ in standby is louder than all three ANTECS).

All in all, Very Good Value.
