  1. I'm not sure it's all bad... on Comcast Blocks Web Browsing · · Score: 3, Interesting

Responding on behalf of hosts that don't (aren't supposed to) exist isn't necessarily a bad thing. It can save on the 45 second timeout for customers, and can help keep FW state tables smaller.

That being said.. spoofing addresses to return RST commands and etc. just SUCKS.

I wish DSL providers would improve their coverage. Many people don't have a choice of anything BUT Comcrap.

Ok, Vista runs slower than XP. I don't debate that. But, XP ran slower than Windows 98, OR Windows 2000. How much of this is love-to-hate-microsoft, and how much of it is really truly bad?

I've been using Vista since October, and, where stuff is moved around, and a little different, it is NOT Satan personified. Turn of UAC, use Google Desktop instead of Windows Sidebar, Firefox instead of IE, and it's been very stable.

No. You shouldn't upgrade your old hardware. But, if it's new hardware, it will run just fine.

And, although fluff, Aero is actually COOL to play with. Useful? not really. but cool.

For this thing to be anything but a game console for me, it needs to be MUCH quieter. Almost SILENT.

It is my opinion that the adblock extenion for Mozilla browsers was created because some ads are just too destracting, and make the content of the PAGE harder to read.
