    Homebrew insulin is no different than homebrew beer/wine from a technical point of view and exist in similar space. There should be no problems in this open-source insulin movement, that is distribute information on how to manufacture it, selling the equipment and raw materials to make it. However, regulators will jump all over it the minute someone tries to sell their finished product or transport it across state lines.

    A really bright flashlight would be useful in "shooing" drones away... If the pilot is flying over to snoop, he's not going want to stay if there is blinding light shinning into the camera.

    First of all, Win 7 is a nice OS, I have the release candidate and enjoy it much more than Vista. That being said, it's too expensive at $100. They should price it at $50 or at least have some sort of Family License (as Apple does) $200 for 4 PCs or something like that. If I'm going to have to go through the chore of upgrading 4 PCs, then at least give me something.

    I have 60 GB of photos from when I first started taking digital photos back in 2001. I keep three sets on three hard drives: 1) In my computer (obviously) 2) One portable 120 GB I keep at home 3) One portable 320 GB I keep at work Once a month, I back up from my main computer to the two portables. As they fill up, I'll replace them. If one crashes out. I'll back up from the others. Simple, cheap, and effective.

    conspiracy theory. This "mistake" is really a ruse to shut down Air Combat Command on September 14th. All fighter Squadrons will be grounded on that day to facilitate another 9/11-style attack.

    Didn't IBM try something similar back in the 70s. You couldn't buy an IBM mainframe, you could only lease it from them. I recall that practice was ruled illegal by the government and IBM had to stop that practice. Can someone with search skillz help me out here?

    The article did mention that when the unit goes to Iraq, only squad leaders. will use the full gear with the eyepiece. It makes more sense as they are the ones who will need to coordinate the squads movements and are in a position to watch and manage. However, in looking at the screen shots of the user interface, I can see IM screens. What possible use could IM be for a soldier in a combat situation?

    Just keep your garage door closed when you use it please. My neighbor across the street has a habit of leaving their garage door open when they vacuum and boy, it is loud. Can hear it through closed windows.

    37, picked up a DS as my Xmas present to myself. Very happy with it. MKR is addictively fun. (gamer since the Atari VCS days, have too many consoles to count, much to my wife's chagrin. Yes, I'm married, have two kids, house, mortgage, and don't live with my parents) ;-)

    I agree. What will this higher capacity bring to the consumer? I mean, what will the studios put on the the new HD/BlueRay discs that will make them dramatically different from current DVDs? I'm sorry but just making it "Hi-def" won't make it. I agree that most folks can't even tell the difference now between a DVD playing on a "standard TV" vs 480p.

    The 4GB nano is the same price as the 4GB mini when it was launced. What's the issue here? The market proved that the price was fine and people bought it in droves. The nano will sell very well. I'm going to get one just as soon as I get my ipod battery credit ;-)

    Mossberg mentions that he prefers the look of the black nano. It will be interesting to see how what the market actually chooses as they start hitting the street. Seriously, I'm out here in the SF bay area and I haven't seen any of those U2 ipods out here at all. Personally, I thought they U2pods would have looked nicer had the scroll wheel been black instead of red.

    I pre-ordered the original xbox from toy's r about three months before launch. At the time, the pre-order retailers were bundling the console with 3 games, extra controller, and carrying case. There were no other options on getting the xbox at launch, you couldn't just by the console and the one game (Halo). Of course, at launch time, other retailers (Target) had the console available seperatly. Take home lesson for me, don't pick up bundles, just wait until launch.
