    That is indeed the solution. Probably every producer will populate and maintain their own database with live data from the cars. The live data could be double-checked by humans and used to notify the road authorities that they need to replace or fix the broken signs.

    Even better, when signs are no longer visible or recognizable the car would still know and follow them.

    I was able to read at 800 MB/s and write at 600 MB/s to a zfs pool of 10 disks on consumer hardware, on Linux.

    Interference is only really relevant at small angles, you need to make sure nearby transmitter point at a different area.

    That's because raid6 actually means something. A 6-drive raid6 system should have about 4x throughput.

    I see no reason why a power-hungry laptop shouldn't accept two USB power cables in parallel, for a total of 200W.

    Saved sessions (including the auto-saved one that loads when you start the browser again) and closed tabs also keep their history (back/forward), so it's not the same as re-opening a list of bookmarks.

    In Gnome and KDE you don't need the top bar with the minimize/maximize/close buttons to move a window around. You can hold Alt and drag the window with the mouse from anywhere.

    In Opera you can toggle the classic menu with Alt+F11.

    It is a postulate, sure. But it's still reasonably well supported. You don't have to travel millions of light-years to see that atoms behave in the same way - you can use spectroscopy.

    In this particular case it's not about the clothes but about the alcohol. It is forbidden under Sharia. Having a woman drink it makes it worse. Naked shoulders?! Even more so.

    To put things the other way I'm pretty certain any arab anti-semitic website would NOT be accepted on .de.

    You don't have to edit a text file, but you have to install compizconfigsomething.

    System > Preferences > CompizConfig Settings Manager

    etrex Vista HCx is indeed all you mentioned, except for the floating part.

    I put it in the bathtub and it went down like a stone. It might float if there are no batteries inside, but that's useless.

    Garmin have a rugged unit that floats, the one they advertise for marine use.

    One other nice thing concerning power use - vista HCx will work with crappy batteries too. When I'm on a trip I usually put in it the batteries that don't work in the camera any more and they give at least 4 hours of use.

    I have a Mybook World with Debian Lenny. Installing it was not a problem.

    The processor and memory are really low, but you can have a torrent client or podcatcher.

    I currently have a problem with oom-killer and 15G+ torrents but otherwise it's a great little system.

    This looks like it uses a rotating display or mirror. It's not scalable.

    You seem to be on Linux. Disable plugins, it's because of flash.

    I've had the same issue, disabled plugins and it hasn't crashed since. Not once.

    some Iriver mp3 players can be setup to connect as either UMS (usb disk) or MTP (music device?). In MTP mode you must have Windows Media Player 10 installed.
