That episode of South Park really nailed the issue of modifing old movies, especially with the fake commerical for the "new and improved South Park" episodes.
as I simply do not trust a fully electronic voting system; data is just too mallable.
Personally, I would like to see a system where both electronic and printed ballot votes are counted. It could then be used to verify that no manipulation or error is occurring.
If I had to bet, I would bet that the patent office does not do any serious checking for prior art, outside of looking through what has been approved for a patent in the past. I believe that they do this because:
1. They don't have the resources to seek prior art for every application.
2. They need the application fees and they have an "approve first" policy since they also make money to review patents.
and that is protected by the first admendment. 2 Live Crew went through this a few years ago over a parody and won in the Supreme Court. This will fail too.
The OpenDarwin release notes states that Airport will be detected but cannot be configured. The home page for ncutil, which OpenDarwin now includes, says that it can configure Airport.
"It means any images of children, apparently under 18 years old, involved in sexual activity or posed to be sexually provocative"
Taking that at face value, British people could not watch movies such as American Pie.
I also find it interesting that illustrations (drawings) of child sex would be illegal under this act but I bet that illustrations of other illegal acts, such as murder, would be okay under British law.
I am a Mac OS X user and I think that Omnigroup's MacOSX-admin & MacOSX-talk mailing lists are pretty good. You can get more information at the following URI:

And although I no longer use it, the NetBSD mailing lists are very good too.
People have used the DMCA to prevent use of copyrighted material even when a copy protection was not circumvented. If you don't believe me, check out this page as an example:
As for proving a point, I think that using the DMCA is just fine. After all, Amazon is part of the patent problem and if you used Amazon's patents without permission, you could expect that they would have say something about it. If they expect people to observe their patents, they ought to observe the copyrights of others.
I think that there is an undiscussed danger in AI picking through my e-mail: it might have different tastes than I do.
For example, maybe the AI mail filter will decide that it really likes those e-mails about Viagra or penis enlarging. Perhaps it will get jealous of my significant other and decide to delete her e-mails.
AI sounds cool but what we really need is spider-sense spam filtering!
One of the things that I have been wanting is a console based word processor (I like GUIs but I prefer the command line). Editors like Vim do line wraps but they often have problems if you go back and add words to a previously wrapped line. Emacs does wrap pretty well but you end up with words split in half between two lines.
Is the anything like WordPerfect for DOS for the console?
I still prefer fixed-width fonts. I changed the default font of Word and Excel (at work) to Courier New. At home I use the fixed width font included with Bitstream's free Vera font.

Maybe we need to start giving movies version numbers and include a change log?

Sometimes, I think that Sun itself is the greatest problem facing Java.
Tarzan is an example of this. Go to a bookstore and read the copyright notice on Tarzan.
I am going to order one. I think that it is cool that this little device is hackable.
And shame on those who would poo-pah on others for having fun with cheap hardware. If you can't understand why this is fun, then don't do it.
I received mine some time ago. I live in Florida.

So which is it?

You're right. My problem now is that I keep coming up with new, cooler domain names that I want to use.
Does anyone know when SciFi's Battlestar Galactia miniseries will be released on DVD? I really liked it and would love to own a copy.
Can't the word Janus be taken to mean two-faced? If so, I can't think of a better term for a Microsoft technology.
Mr X?

Church of Scientology wields the DMCA, Google removes xenu.net

So Alexa is an Amazon company and they are making money by taking screenshots of copyrighted material?
Maybe everyone who has screenshots of their website in Alexa should file a DMCA complaint Amazon. Seems fair to me since Amazon loves bogus patents.
I seem to remember he was given a Macintosh Powerbook. Of course, that doesn't mean he uses it as his primary computer.

"Why I Am Not A Christian" by Bertrand Russell (ISBN: 0-671-20323-1); a rational work.
Exactly. In every other respect, Emacs works great for me.

Dude, I still use DBase IV. Sometimes you just have to still with what works.
