    Dell is doing the same old game from too much time: they say they are considering AMD options, just to ask better conditions from Intel; the next day, they will restart bashing AMD products.

    AMD should issue a statement saying that for the next xx months they will not even consider selling any CPUs to Dell! :-P

    No, it's probably only a testament on not showing enough info about the benchmark system/conditions to provide any useful technical data, but only marketing data.
    Who know? Maybe the game was simply framerate limited by the similar integrated graphics chipset.

    I'm not saying that the Pentium M isn't fast, or as fast as a desktop P4; only that probably that demo don't prove that.
    Just my 2c.

    Off course, my freeware TrID file identifier is a must!
    How you can possible live without using it? :)

    Jokes apart, I think/hope it could really be useful to someone. Whenever you have a file with an unknown extension, or badly renamed, and so on, it may be of some help location the correct app to open/run a certain file.

  14. HP Dynamo come to mind on Universal Emulators Return · · Score: 2, Informative
    It remaind me of an HP project named Dynamo. It allowed to translate and existing binary at runtime, eveng gaining some performance in the process. The demo/test was demonstrated on a PA8000 (IIRC). So it got PA8K ASM in, digested it (!), and come out with different PA8K ASM. Every translated block (to a branch point) was cached and reused if possible. All with minimum overhead.

    Other clients will not be a problem. Google can simply implement a web based client, and put targeted Ads on that.
    Aside from the web client, one can then freely connect with any Jabber client he want/like, if & when he'll find that more convenient.

    I just hope that Google launch a Jabber based IM system; it will be a major boost to the adoption of Jabber's servers as an open standard.
    It could also seamlessy integrated with GMail, using the same id both as the e-mail address and as JID.
