Maybe offtopic, but do you run on asphalt barefoot? I can understand if running barefoot in the woods, on tracks etc is ok, is good and even better for your feet, but running on hard concrete/asphalt roads is very different and I'm curious if that's ok with the feet :)

The Archy environment appears similar to plan 9, where every string of text is executable. Just select and execute. Personally, I like that approach, and I wasn't aware of Archy until yesterday. And as long as you, by only executing commands at the last line, can keep a record of what you have done I see no problem with this. As then the more experienced can achieve greater speeds while the new users can get help from knowing their past commands.

True, as the essay points out there are areas where the CLI is lacking, for example images and anything but text. But still it's worth thinking about.

Our taxes are not for road maintenance only, it pays for medical treatment of those injured in car accidents. It pays for polution ..er. cleaning. And personally, I think the gas price should be even higher, then people would use public transports more and it wouldn't waste as much oil on useless crap. Like taking the car instead of a 5 min walk to the store.

  18. StarCraft from Blizzard on Are Older Games More Satisfying? · · Score: 1

This game released 1998 has everything. Though the graphics ain't good compared with todays games, the gameplay is the excellent. There are 3 different races in this RTS that are very different, yet so well balanced. And the story is really good too. I do still enjoy a good game of SC with my friends, and even the single player campaigns are still enjoyable. (I know Blizzard sued the Freecraft project but beside that they are the best developer around)
