After playing breakout for too long, I grabbed the club from a cop, knocked his head off, and hit it back and forth against colored bricks, knocking them out of the school building where small children were trying to learn.
The DS is quite a little handheld, but I think a lot of the features have really gone to waste. Mario 64 is fun, but I don't feel the same compulsion to seek out every star again.
Having a web browser would be pretty slick, but I won't contribute anymore to the rumor mill than I already have.
Alright, it seems we are headed towards a future where a lie said often enough is the truth. The WMDs in Iraq is proof that the Bush administration is more than willing to bend the truth to unresonable extremes to support their holy causes.
A biologist in Alaska wrote in response to the survey: "It is one thing for the department to dismiss our recommendations, it is quite another to be forced (under veiled threat of removal) to say something that is counter to our best professional judgment."
What's worse is that the American people didn't care to open their eyes to this and get rid of W when they had the chance. The scientists can only fight for so long before the next, brain washed generation is far more willing to churn out whatever studies are requested for the right price. Science is becoming another consumable, to be bought and sold like oil and food.
I guess there might be some hope left, but I'd look for a lot more of this in the next 4 years. I don't forsee a Worker's Revolution either, but I think we can do better and leave some things as unbuyable. Maybe I'm just a member of a dying breed that holds onto a bit of dignity. I mean, liars are going to have more money, and morals no longer seem to matter in our reltavistic society. I guess relativistic science is next, and I don't mean Special Relativity.
I wouldn't say that for all users. Podcasting has gotten major news coverage in recent weeks (slashdot, newspapers) and the wikipedia entry has been edited 50 times in the past 3 days alone, with almost all of it link spamming and removal of link spamming. So many contributers are great people, but as wikipedia grows in popularity, link spamming will only get worse.
I like wikipedia, but they really should consider the creation of a wikipedia stable, where edits that are not reverted on the main server appear. That would really help the spam / defacing problems, without doing to much damage to the open nature. Bleeding edge types could still read the instantly editable one.
Why use these closed source linux type things, with the standard kernel and such, but with a custom, nonfree window manager? Wouldn't one of the traditional distros be cheaper? This is supposed to be a price saving move, and what's cheaper than a GPL operating system without the nonfree window manager?
the extra 100 you spend on a PSP instead of a DS gets you the following features:
*shorter battery life
*Non-interactive technology demos
*Maybe a movie
*10 mp3 storage space.
*one screen
I'm not convinced it is worth the extra money. At least the DS came with a game you could actually play, which is why a person would buy a portable gaming system.
I know that Nintendo is working on a new type of controller
I don't know about the Revolution, but the DShas a mighty fine set up. The game library is sorely lacking right now, but I've enjoyed Mario 64 all over again. The Metroid Demo it comes with is also awesome. I'd give it a shot, even if you don't like handhelds that much. A lot of the store demo ones get the screens all smudged up with fingerprints, but it can be cleaned off easily. Even wiping it off with your shirt helps.
I can handle the frontpage ads for devices that will actually work, but this looks like one of those Television Advertisements that offer miracle pain curing or some such. It can't possibly work, and it shouldn't be posted as fact on slashdot without the humor icon.
there's an internet poll saying 61 percent of americans think the War in Iraq is a good deal, but you don't see that posted on slashdot. Why should this be any different?
If I poll forums.nintendo.com and write an editorial how Xbox is teh d00med, can I get it posted?
My idea on why this is illegal while guns, cars, knives etc are not, is that people pay taxes on going to the movies, buying cars, guns, etc, but the tax gain on P2P is next to none, maybe some increased profit from ISPs. No tax revenue = no reason to defend it.
This study (30 pages, available on a dedicated blog, in pdf format or in.torrent/blogtorrent) explain why: - P2P is unstoppable - P2P is positive for Companies - P2P is positive for the market - P2P is good for users
This is the worst formatting ever - It could be so much improved - By using commas instead of dashes - So people could actually read and understand - The summary a little bit - And this reeks of buzzwords - P2P this and P2P is positive - P2P is a scalable enterprise solution - With high ROI return synergy
yeah, the DS has kind of a lack of good titles right now. There's a lot in the future, but Mario and the metroid demo are the only ones to really push the system. They added a few levels and adjusted some existing ones to fit the new control scheme, so I think it's been worth playing through again. I've not played ridge racer, so I can't comment, but I've heard it pales in comparison to the PSP one.
However, I'm looking for the full metroid, mario kart, Castlevania and Soul Calibur titles sometime this year.
Super Nintendo 64 DS has graphics slightly worse than the N64 version.
I own Mario DS, and the graphics aren't really worse. The textures are improved (mario's jeans have texture) but some things are simplified to be more visible on the small screen. I'd say they are just about the same, if not better.
But/.'ers need to understand: once you've seen the PSP, once you've played the PSP, you'll want to own one.
I'm sure the graphics rock, but sony has a less than perfect record of harware endurance compared to nintendo (PS2 disc read error has hit a lot of people) and I can only imagine what it will be like in a handheld.
Also, Remember what has killed every technically superior hand held: Battery Life. Sega's attempt had far superior graphics, backlit screen, it was awesome. The problem: battery life. DS lasts 8-10 hours, PSP 2-6 depending on use. That might be bad for sony.
I just can't risk it. I'll let this one slide for a while and see how the hardware holds up in the real world, though it does look promising. Ridge Racer does look amazing.
Alright, That's not just biased, it's wrong. They came out with the most innovative handheld console ever concieved, Metroid Deathmatch, and all you can do is notice the lack of GTA? Comparing the DS to PSP may be a toss up, but there can be no question the DS is the more original of the two.
It's the best comparision since Libraries of Congress for data storage and transfer.
Example 1: My new server is as tall as 8 mac minis, 4 minis wide, 3 minis thick, and 80 mac minis loud.
Example 2: My new USB mouse has 3 mac mini mouse's worth of buttons.
Welcome to the brave new world of indirect measurement.
oh wait.
Ad revenue ripoff site here
No! My sense of elitism. Gone. All gone.
I've been hearing about this elinks browser, and how it has no popups? Can anyone verify this?
Someone else is to blame for this. Who can I sue?

Freedom of speech is the right to yell THEATRE! in a crowded fire.
We tinfoil hats think alike. And tinfoil hats own the internet.

Lame.
And We will all never forget the tragedy of the Paper Card Snafu of 1921. It's a wonder they got back on their feet after that.

Any chance you could send me the source so I might put one up?
