I'm not an Apple fan at all, but if you've seen/used a Samsung android phone and an iPhone you'd agree there are many more infringements than just accidentally arriving at the same common sense UI.
I have a HTC android and have been very happy with it, but when I used a friends Samsung android phone the experience was completely different. Samsung have gone out of their way to modify their Android verisons, and several apps and UI elements are obvious clones of Apple iPhone. It's just blatant and unneccesary, Android already has it's own good features and selling points.
Borderlands did an awesome job of that, using rotoscoped stylalised graphics. The visual differences between low and high details levels were alot less pronounced. Yes you could still turn candy on, but you sould still have a reasonable experience on low end hardware.
Personally I like stylised graphics a bit more - I think it's the imagination and escapism it brings with it. Together with good gameplay, I racked up over 100 hours on it, awesome value for a $40 GOTY edition.
Pretty much any fibre with a small enough particle size to get deep, deep within your lungs causes major issues. If you can contain the fibre within resin and stop it from deteriorating back to nano size again then no worries.
I earn plenty, and yet I still seldom buy $50 to $90 games because they are rarely worth it.
Steam makes it very easy to follow the sales, buy reasonable games at $2 to $15 when they are on super specials, and leave them in your library until you are ready.
Even if they are great games, they will almost certainly be re-released in a "game of the year" variant at a fraction of the price, with fewer bugs, including all of the DLC's, and chances are by that time your hardware will run them better
OK smartypants, how are you going to detect technology that doesnt exist yet? How will you categorise signiatures from biochemical processes that we have never seen or studied?
We either have to use our own experience as a reference point or not look at all. I vote we look and hope we get lucky.
I agree 100%. Arduino is like the legos of microcontrollers. I've used many plain Atmel microcontrollers before and there was a steeper learning curve, whereas Arduino has been very quick, cheap and FUN!
There is also the benefit of reasonably standard IO wiring, so that when the community shares projects they are dealing with common hardware layouts.

I just noticed that 2.2 added WiFi hotspot to my phone, unless your carrier denies it. That is clearly Google being not evil, and carriers taking the responsability.
With a super fast laser initiated frame front, I imagine they'll adjust the timing closer too, or ever after top dead center. That will stop the parts-breaking kick.

1) Intel graphics is leagues behind Nvidia/AMD, and their driver/directx support is poor. 2) Their Atom CPU's are great but when you team up a 3W CPU to a 20W chipset it kind of defeats the purpose of low power.
your wireless is 30mW. Mobile phones are up to 2W peak bursts, especially when reception is poor. This is also why it makes sense to introduce picocells - you can get all of the phone transmitters to go into low power (good signal) mode.
So far I've derived no benefit from it, but I could easily see that if I wanted to change jobs it would be very usefull.
Many of the people I've worked with on projects in the past would be more than happy to hear from me and help me get a job on their latest project, and I'd do the same. Having one spot to hold all of that info is very handy, especially when old colleagues change their email address, phone number or location.
You cant run a whole floor of 50 - 100 stations with "a wireless access point or two". Even limiting the number of users per AP, you find very quickly that there is not enough non-overlapping channels nor physical seperation to tesellate properly - let alone the interference from your neighbours - resulting in very poor bandwidth per user and a poor quality of service.
Have you ever installed an access point infrastructure to cover more than a few users. Let me assure you, your WiFi plan would fail HARD on any sizeable installation - there is just too much overlap and too few channels to cover large areas well. Let alone halving your bandwidth straight up with WDS.

These days with modern switching electronics, voltage ramping down is not an issue at all.
