I respect the hell out of the guy and what he's working towards.. but can we get rid of the "Tesla is so awesome" article quota? A lot of what is reported here about Tesla is about as innovative as Apple's rounded corner.

I can't find it now but there's an annual get together at a lake in Ohio that celebrates cars that can also travel in the water.

  3. I got a different impression on the intent of the congresswoman. Her 'suggestion' was merely trying to raise a point that drug testing the poor is stupid because results have shown that drug use among that group is far below the national average. It's a program (championed by Republicans) that is costing the government more money.

To me, I can feel the sarcasm simply by reading her statements...

When you take a quiet residential street and suddenly increase the volume 100 fold, do you think they are going to take away highway maintenance funds to repair that, especially when it was not meant to be a detour around construction?

I feel the residents have a very legitimate reason to be upset. Now, who they should be upset with is more easily debated. Patience in our society is gone, everyone looking for a shortcut.

I'm grossly simplifying the issue but I believe anyone that is working 40 hours per week should have the luxury to not have to worry about paying the bills where they live (obviously living within their means). There is such a heavy reliance on minimum wage service jobs.

  16. Minimum wage should be tied to some sort of living index of where the business is physically located.

$15/hr working 40 hour weeks, 52 weeks per year is still only $31,200, before taxes. How would your life be making that money? What if you made that much money while trying to live in NYC, or LA?

Get over your notion that people wanting a living wage is somehow the problem. If minimum wage kept up with inflation over the years, wouldn't we already be at or past $15/hr? Prices for goods keeps up with inflation but labor wages don't? Hmm..

In the final, he buzzed in too early on multiple occasions (had to wait until they were done reading the question) and was DQ'd from answering that question. He knew the answer before the question was done. The other kid then had 30 seconds to work out it on his own, eventually getting it right.
