Luckily for me, my wife and I live well below our means and have significant investments despite being late 30s/early 40s. Our goal is to retire in our mid 50s and live only off investment income. This "boom" has helped us out but we're already in the top 15% of income earners in the country. Poor people are getting more poor. This is a trend that has been going on for a long time so I'm not blaming any one party.. however Republicans are less discrete about their intentions of funneling more money to the already wealthy.

The narrow view is looking at a few species of animals to decide what can be done with the land. My big picture view is "why the fuck do we keep allowing corporations to pollute the environment to make a quick dollar?"

I hate that Republicans only care about "right now" and not about those of us that plan to live another 40-50 years.

The dial-up providers survived for awhile then started to drop out one-by-one. Cable then came to the area, finished off all the dial-ups and pushed DSL out. Frontier did come to the area about 10 years ago giving us 1 cable (Spectrum) and 1 very slow DSL (Frontier). Now they need to hope their cars stay on the road long enough to bring in those non-warranty sales while at the same time keeping customers happy enough to want new cars 5-8 years down the road.
