Slow down there, I don't see any reference to them actually implementing this potential solution (improvement?) any time soon. I think it's good they are trying multiple avenues to try and erradicate the disease. Just because this team of scientists are working with altering the mosquitoes doesn't mean noone else is working on a vaccine. It is possible they will have a breakthrough and can prove the GM mosquitoes will get rid of malaria in X number of years, and they know how to replicate the process to tackle the next disease (like yellow fever).
In no way was I trying to proclaim the dominance of either console, it was just a simple reply to the GP who can't find any PS3s in his area... basically saying "if you're looking for one, they have them here".
So something that happened 15 years ago makes you claim that all cops NOW are ignorant?
I said there are always a few bad cops, but to say the majority are clueless really irks me. We aren't living in the times of Andy Griffith, most cops have college degrees now. At least in my area, competition is high for any open positions on one of the forces.
Sure what happened to you sucks, but you branded an entire segment of society based on one event. You wouldn't be too happy if I insulted what your dad did for a living without any basis, would you?
This really annoys me. You hear about a few bad cops in the news and suddenly the majority of police officers know absolutely nothing about civil liberties, right to privacy or any other constitutional or legal rights.
My dad is a retired cop who now teaches academy classes on top of his new job. Granted we live in a somewhat rural county (2 cities of 25k, a few other smaller ones around), but he would actually get letters written to him praising his work and professionalism from people he gave a ticket to or arrested!
Your generalizations are like me saying no-one who reads slashdot has ever left their parents' basement and definately never spoken with a real girl before.
And what worries me is you get modded insightful for contributing nothing useful. Best way to karma whore is blame the man! (or microsoft)
But what you didn't post was how some of the Myths also have no evidence.
Basically the article is telling me there's no proof for either side of these claims. But it's just enough information to bring the conspiracy theorists out of the woodwork.
Sure Microsoft may be missing out on some income, but the DOT isn't going away from Microsoft, just not upgrading to the most current version. So the DOT still has to pay for all of their liscenses.
I think it would be more efficient if the people who go to the gym instead would just put on a pair of running shoes and would not have to exercise in a room that had not to be lit and heated for the purpose of them having a place to exercise. Ever live in a colder climate and suffer from asthma? Going running just isn't going to work here for at least 3 months of the year. Plus my knees/ankles took such a beating from playing soccer for 15 years that I need low impact workouts. I'll ride my bike 10-15 miles/night during the summer, but I can't do that when it's cold. Plus the gym has a nice varity of equipment to give me a full body workout.
Your definition is correct, but your qualification isn't. Dell is not trying to keep the masses from knowing this information (was there even any info, sounds to me it was just a rant). Dell is simply trying to keep the website clear of possibly inflamitory posts that have no added value to idea generation.
It would only qualify as censorship if Dell attempted to have the information removed from all forums and webpages. The fact that it's being discussed on/. should be enough indication there is no censorship.
I didn't read the article because for some reason it's blocked at work (we have odd filters), but it's possible the post containing the link didn't meet the requirements.
If I asked for some ideas, I would be open minded about what I received. If I got complaints instead with no ideas (not sure if the link gave suggestions or just complained), I would also remove them to try and stop the forum from becoming a flame war.
Well, if you want to read about something bad that happened to microsoft, you search for "haha"... it's the only one I've been able to translate so far.
Yes, you have the right of Free Speech protected under the First Amendment.. until what you say infringes on the right of someon else, which makes your speech unprotected.
Threatening another person, in my opinion, infringes on their rights and would not be protected under the First Amendment.... even if it's done on a myspace page.
But you also can't throw the book at every kid who says something.. kids will be kids. It's definitely a fine line to walk.
Sony is in trouble because the 360 which, as you mentioned, has already been out for a year is still selling more units than the PS3 based on the daily selling rate.
But good for Nintendo. I'm glad the masses are finally recognizing Nintendo produces consoles that are the most fun to play with friends.
So XM and Sirius should die off because you don't like the type of music they play. Great reasoning!
I enjoyed XM for the short time I had it. The variety of music available ANYWHERE was much better than trying to find a station in random cities while driving along the interstate. I also enjoyed the World Cup and baseball coverage I was able to get. The only reasons I didn't keep XM were because I don't drive much and I can hook my ipod up to my stereo.
You must be a music god to know what is truly good and what is horrible.
At first I thought you weren't American, and I was going to let it slide... then I read the last line where you used "us" and "our".
Do you understand what the FBI actually does? It's a little bit of everything. But being the son of a retired police officer, I know they do a lot of training. If someone requests help, they provide it... it's pretty simple.

I was at the mall on Saturday and stopped by the game store. They had roughly 10 PS3s stacked up with a big neon sign saying "Units available today!"
They still can't keep a Wii in stock though.

I think you mean "cue"
I can't believe anyone would label the parent post "insightful". I'm thinking more along the lines of "troll" or "offtopic".
As others have mentioned, NASA is in the state... not to mention Honda and soon to be Hyndai.

I think it's time for you to leave your parents' basement. BsB is sooooo 2006.
KFed all the way!
I just hope they are backward compatable.....

Ahh, a linux snob!

You mean something like this http://www.polyurethane.org/s_api/sec.asp?CID=867& DID=3520?
I saw this on TV a few nights ago. Not exactly benign, but useful.

As soon as I hit submit I thought "crap, I was thinking Oxford".
:)
I shouldn't make that mistake, especially since I went to school at the University of Cincinnati (2 n's, not 2 t's).
I experienced two Halloweens at OU, so I am quite aware it's in the middle of nowhere
OU is in Athens, OH (closer to Cincinnati) while OSU is naturally in Columbus.

If the article or summary had been mis-leading, then you would have a point. But it wasn't, so your "insightful" post is nothing more than a troll.

All I saw was "monoply bad wah wah wah"... Would you prefer both companies go out of business and there being ZERO choices?
As it stands neither company is really profitable, so something has to be done.
