What part of human history makes you believe we can exist without fighting? Even small conflicts can affect the entire world because of globalization.
My point is without volunteers, you or I could be drafted when needed. And yes, I agree that a draft for the Iraq war would've caused a rebellion by the people, but that doesn't mean there would never be a good reason to draft.
I am 100% for bringing the troops home and closing most of our foreign military bases. But I'm not going to chastise the soldiers for volunteering to serve.
What about the other choice: not volunteering for the armed forces? I bet you'd enjoy that. No more volunteers for the armed forces, I hope you enjoy your time in the service after being drafted.
This sounds like a device we use occasionally in our office. I wish I knew what it was called so I could link it.. but I'll just have to deal with describing it. You attach the device to the corner of a whiteboard, use a special marker, and it records your writing. You can then plug the device into a laptop via USB to download the board notes. We've had this thing for at least 2 years.
Yes, I am thankful for the help the French lent the colonists during the revolution, but the "Americans" still had to prove they could win a few battles of their own first
Just think how much better WWII would've been had France won a few battles at the beginning...;).
completely off topic, but why is being able to touch your toes useful? I played soccer and baseball from age 8 through high school, and I was never able to touch my toes... in fact it's the one thing that always kept me from getting the presidential fitness award every year.
back on topic, I agree with your assessment about DDR. I feel at home playing team sports, but getting on a DDR machine in front of my peers? No thanks.
Well that's why the publisher took issue to you giving it away for free. I'm not saying I agree with how they handled the situation, but they are trying to protect future sales and they saw you harming that by giving away their software for free, even if you were selling the book.
There's data that, through the fossil record, shows us earth's biodiversity peaking again and again until a great cataclysmic period where it is greatly reduced.
Is this where homo sapiens come in? Are we the next cause of a great cataclysmic period?
I would like to see your data proving that all police officers speed.
I'll invite you to spend a week in my area. I can always tell when I'm about 5 cars behind a cruiser driving through town because everyone (including the cop) is now going 1 mph UNDER the limit. Most people are scared to pass a cop no matter how slow they are driving. I think they like to go slow just to fuck around with people.
And I've never been pulled over for passing a cop while I was going 5mph over the limit. I have no issues with them going a few mph over the posted limit as long as they don't pull people over for doing the same.
The snippit says the new cells can produce 60 times the current. If he is truely an "expert" he would understand the meaning behind that. It's a good thing he posted as an AC because it was a foolish comment.
He's not making a valid comment, he's making an assumption.
What would make a comment like that idiotic? The topic is about the shortage of Wii's, and saying something like "I've been trying to buy a Wii for the past month, but can't find one... meanwhile every store I visit has 3-4 PS3s on display" is hardly stupid. It would be stupid if it was a lie.
In my area, it's not just the Wii that is in short supply, it's all of the hardware. I was going to buy the wired networked adaptor (no wifi in my house) as well as an extra wiimote + nunchuck in anticipation of finding a wii, but none of the local stores have any of those. Granted I don't live in a metropolis and I could probably drive 30 miles south to a larger city to find one. I've heard reports that Costco and Sam's Club have them in stock... too bad I'm not a member to either.
In high school? If you want to do research, go to the library.
Are programming classes common in high schools now? I understand the potential benefits from it, but this is typically something that is learned (and applied) while at a university. The people I knew who could program in high school were all self taught.
I read about this about a year ago, but another reason cell phones are banned on planes is something to do with being in multiple cell tower areas at once, and constantly adding/subtracting the tower service area.
Maybe the blood banks will stop hovering outside my house like a swarm of mosquitoes! They make sure I know when it's time to donate again.. I can still see the needle hole scar on my right arm from my last three donations... I guess it's time to switch over to my left arm for a year.
So if I understand correctly, all blood can be made into type O, which anyone except O- will be able to use? Those of us with O- will still require only O-.
I'm not speaking with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure most Japanese cars (and probably most Detroit cars) do meet California's emissions policy. I know for Honda, the only real difference between a car meant for California and a car sold in Ohio is the sticker on the window showing the car is in Tier 3, Bin 2 emissions (or whatever the exact wording is).
And just because a car has has lower mpg doesn't mean it won't meet emissions requirements. There is some correlation, but some engines do burn fuel more cleanly (that's why you'll still find SUVs and Hummers on the road in CA).
Believe it or not, I have read some very good summaries in the past that don't end with some lame attempt at humor. At least for me, those personal comments at the end wind up ruining the article because they put a pre-conceived idea in my head.
Give me a link, give me a summary of the link, and if you have a comment leave it with the rest of them.
Do you remember that family based "church" that was (still is?) going around to soldiers funerals and basically mocking the families by saying it was punishment from God because the US accepts homosexuals?
Then came that group of Vietnam vets who would show up and give support to drown out the protests from the whackjobs.
The anti-RIAA needs to be Vietnam vets on motorcycles and leather jackets. They could show up to court rooms, and have "flashbacks" on the RIAA lawyers.
I read the CNN article earlier this morning and a spokesman for the company said the employee had been terminated.. which to me sounds like being fired. But the guy who did the ad said he resigned. In either case he's out of a job.
I wish I had one of my MLB (baseball) ticket stubs with me right now. When you read the back of the ticket, the assumption is you're not allowed to talk about the game or the outcome outside of the stadium without approval from MLB and both teams involved in the game.
I'm sure no-one has been sued for telling their buddy "yeah, the Reds won 3-2".. but the wording makes it sound like a sin to talk about the game.
A completely biased summary trying to describe a biased article... makes for good reading... ???
After reading that "summary" I assumed it was a submitted blog. I can't believe garbage like that makes it on to the front page.

But did the answers originally come from a solution manual that was available seperately for purchase?
Publishers make you buy the answers seperately because they know desperate university students will buy it.
What I'm not sure is if you mean a copy or a photocopy.
I doubt those chargers are meant to give you a full charge, most likely they were designed to give you a jump start.
If your alternator is dead, charging the battery really doesn't do much good over the long term.

Soap gets tested because it's quite easy to disguise a dangerous substance as soap.

You forgot the "News for Nerds" part.. and I think gaming matters to quite a few of us.
