Ok. The basic idea is that the door is the same, but the other way, no other strangenesses. Except as pointed out in my post above: there are knobs on the hinge side of the door that prevent it from opening that way. So you can disassemble the hinges, but the door is still fixed into the frame with knobs/bolts on both sides, and only one side can be opened with a key.

Is it even possible for anyone to do sensible software business in Indonesia?

Anyway, I like this part: "They can't force developing countries like us to solely use legal software since we can't afford it. They want us to gradually reduce our use of it."

I also want to gradually reduce my use of legal software. The alternative would thus be illegal software. Or do Microsoft mean that they want the Indonesian government to jump over to a competitor's product?

Not sure what 'secure' means, but some have a chain to stop the door, just like on inwards-opening doors. And it's just as insecure too. Also, the hinges can be disassembled of course, but there are knobs that enter into the door frame on the hinge side when the door is closed, so you still need the key to open. The door can only swing open from the deadlock side.

Yes, every door in Finland opens outwards. Easier to get out in a fire, harder to break in. Usually inside the house too (outside == towards the exit), but not always, depends on the house plan.

No need to sacrifice backward compatibility. If we want underscores as standard, simply make a new function is_set(), identical to isset(), deprecate the old one, and leave it at that. Old scripts will work, but new ones can be made in a coherent fashion.

But on the toher hand, PHP isn't really ciplled in any way, is it? Sure the function names are varying, but that can be fixed eventually. It's just easy to do things right there on the spot, instead of doing it really elegantly, but if you force yourself to do things the right way, wouldn't PHP be as good as any other option?
