It amazes me that regardless of all the historical evidence, corps still keep right on thinking that they can pull this kind of shit off and end-users will be too dumb to ever notice.
No doubt nVidia will come up with some lame excuse about how its anonymized or that its just to improve our user experience or whatever, just like all the other corps that have ever got caught doing this kind of shit always do.
> Any uptick in polling between now and the election because of this update will be way less than the downtick already experienced in the 7 days.
We'll have to see. I guess the other thing is that he may now be trying to look good just to save his own ass/job, especially after being hauled over the coals by congress for being so obviously biased the last time.
He's clearly incompetent though, His job was always screwed if Trump gets in, but by doing this he's probably significantly pissed off Clinton too.
>> You also have to wonder why Trump, with the best people, the best words and his genius level deal making skills is apparently powerless to do anything about all this.
I for one don't have to wonder because I bothered to do some research instead of just believe anything the obviously biassed mass media tries to brainwash me with. Comey, Loretta Lynch and Clinton have significant shared business interests, and are obviously watching out for each other.
Trump has good people but if the system itself is corrupt there's only limited things even they are able to do.
There's no irony here. I don't see anything wrong with the reactions of the republicans. If the roles were revered the dems would react the same. You even end your comment by reaching the same conclusion I did.
I don't think he is an idiot at all, I think this was all part of a plan to make sure Hillary appears exonerated for her email server, right before the election. The other thing releasing this news now does is to make sure the media is dominated with "Hillary is innocent" news, rather than other bad things that she's also done and are now coming out.
> Quite a big difference from Scientology and other cults where a lot of information about what the leaders believe is deliberately held back from potential converts.
Not really. Information forms belief. There's a collection of books kept in the Popes own apartment that only Popes are ever allowed to see. There's tons of stuff that the Vatican actually does that is completely contrary to Christian doctrine.
"By hacking and dumping emails, Russia is trying 'to denigrate the American electoral system, to make it look chaotic, make it look manipulable, make it look subject to intrusion, cheating and vulnerable so you can't trust it..."
Firstly there are several different satellite geolocation systems in use that cover the entire world, US has GPS, EU has Gallileo, and USSR has GLONASS. Many receivers can pick them all up, so you'd need them all to agree to not cover UK prisons. Good luck convincing the Russians, and I'd bet you'd have a hard time even with the controlling authorities of the other two.
Secondly, why would drones necessarily need GPS anyway? Just fly them with a camera.
Phil Schiller said the company had dropped the SD card slot as it was "cumbersome" and because wireless transfer technology for cameras is "proving very useful" as an alternative.
Note the multiple stupid assumptions. 1) The only use for SD cards is cameras 2) All cameras support wireless 3) You don't have LOTS of big pictures to transfer, (which takes FAR longer over wireless than just popping your SD card out).
I wish Chrome and Firefox gave their owners complete control over exactly what APIs random websites can access, rather than just presume we don't care if they report our system details and other things. It seems crazy to me that by default I can't even stop websites from opening other browser windows.
Maybe not right now but over time the demand for more and more bandwidth will keep growing.. Between the trends of increasing resolution such as 4k video (and supposedly 8k is now the next big thing), and that fact that all software is getting more and more bloated so using more and more resources to do the same thing, and companies like Microsoft are driving everyone into the cloud whether its actually good for them or not, it seems inevitable.
"...they did not find a significant increase in their wait times. But the overall rates at which drivers canceled the ride after it was assigned to them was.. roughly double than for riders with white-sounding names."
Rather than just conveniently assume "racism" they should first dig a little deeper and, say, check with the drivers themselves for the existence of other correlations.
From the article: "around 270 men who were using it, with four pregnancies among their partners...."..so for one in 67 people it fails. Thats WAY too high to be described as "effective".
"Eight men had not recovered their normal sperm counts a year after the study ended..... The researchers stopped taking on new participants in 2011 after concerns were raised about side effects such as depression and other mood disorders, as well as muscle pain and acne. Such side effects caused 20 men to drop out of the study and were reported by many others,"

Totally agree. Well said.
Totally agree. This "result" just further confirms it.

lol I think you need put that doobey down now.
Why just Android? Are you going to do a PC version?

US voting system untrustworthy? Surely not....

why do they still need people in the tank?
You joke but I'm seriously thinking about going back to my old w995.
Congratulations on Windows Update finally making it to the 1980s.
Operator simply disables GPS, or even simpler buys a drone that doesn't have it. Duh.

This alone will mean Apple hardware is no longer a real option for software developers.
If they don't eventually invest in fibre, companies like Google that are laying fibre will eventually eat their lunch.
Wait what? One of the bank's computers was irregularly pinging Turmp's server and that was somehow his fault?

That doesn't sound like "safe" to me.
> There's bad things about her. My current judgment is that these don't matter all that much for the Presidency,
This boggles my mind. How could any sane person on the one hand say this person is corrupt, then on the other say she should be president?
