Correct me if I'm wrong, but, Terminator started with the premise that all the computers in the world were all hooked together at a single point in time and achieved AI on there own. I'm stocking up on weapons as we speak.
I am a voracious reader and don't want to store books in my apartment. I have been reading on a PDA since my first Handspring DX. Then I got a CLIE , then another and then moved to PPC. I now have an IPaq 4705 and I think it's great. BTW I have over 1500 books in my library. Where would you put 1500 books?
I don't have the specific site but I read this AM that 2-3 computer companies (one of which is Sony) is in talks with Jobs to license OS X for use on their boxes. It sounds like a good idea to me and one that MS followed long ago to become the bloated giant that it is today.
If Apple licenses the OS it will make money the way they do best. They are an IDEA company.
yeah, that's what I said. I was playing CD's and my son bought me a Creative Zen 60Gb player and now I can walk around with all my CD's in a palm sized box. Yay for progress!!!
Yeh, he's my hero too, but the magazine wants to keep on the good side of the administration. I guess no one's immune from censorship these days. After all, all they could get from Rutan is a ride.
Except for my NetFlix Movies (which I backed up in case something went wrong HAH!) I haven't watched TV in weeks.
Marx was wrong, television is the true opiate of the masses.
I don't know if many Slashdotters know it but the Japanese believe that conceiving a child under the Northern Lights is a good luck thing. It seems that travel companies book tours to Alaska just for this reason.
I'm a pharmacist and although I'm not a big fan of RFID in general this a great idea. If the info could be hooked up to the pharmacies computer, registering item, bottle size, strength etc. it would make for fantastic quality control. Think of it, a pharmacist could use the wand to double check that the right drug and strength were dispensed making for much fewer dispensing errors. We actually take CE courses in eliminating errors.
Yeah, building led displays and playing C64 games always gets you laid. As opposed to going out for dinner and a movie.
God, do you people actually believe the things that are written here!
I've been around computers for A LONG TIME ( geezer alert ) and switched to Firefox a while ago. I still use IE occasionally if I have to, but not willingly. It is so much more pleasant, secure, useful etc. than IE that I don't want to use IE at all. In fact I got my kids ( 4, allgrown ) to use Firefox because of what I told them that IE's faults were.
This has been used already for hearing impairment. The equipment was kludgy however and didn't get widespread use. New tech however may make it popular again with less noticable transducers.
My Dell Axim 5 adv. died today after 3 years of daily service. I'm scrambling to buy a new PPC because I need one every day. I'm a pharmacist and I have 2 databases on it:ePocrates and Tarascon on it, I read books whenever I get the chance using MobiPocket or Windows Reader or sometimes PalmReaderPro.
Sometimes I'll play the odd game of Go, Scrabble or Uno.
Not to mention I use it for PIM, birthdays and anniversaries.
When I graduated from grade school (don't ask, I'm older than dirt) my parents gave me a transistor radio as a gift. Yes, it was exactly like the Ipod today.
I hope the movie and fan reaction (buying tickets) puts the idea in the heads of the money men. I didn't watch it much when it was on TV, but I bought the DVD collection and couldn't put it down.
Good shows are cancelled because Hollywood doesn't know bullocks about how to nuture a show. Seinfeld didn't make a hit for almost two years. it got shuffled around until it finally got big.
BTW I think, with new tech such as shooting with tape instead of film which cuts costs, Someone should starting straight to disk films and let the market place for them shoot it out.
I'm ashamed to say I never watched the series on TV but I rented the first DVD of the complete series and liked it so much I bought the boxed set. It works like a 9 hour movie.
Let's see, 4 hours daily playing game in a lonely room, 8-10 hours sleep, 8 hours work (lol), 2 hours meals. Getting a life: Priceless
I wonder if this guy has a girlfriend?
Get Loaded, get laid.

I have not gone to Nippon as of yet, but I am listed on a dating service on line and the Asian women all want Caucasian men.

I once met the president of Universal at a cocktail party and he seemed to be able to pick quality as much as I could bight myself on the ass.
