people came to these because you can get into these with money alone. on all other countries they make you memorize a lot of crap just to get into college.
"Standard" and "high speed"... and what happens when next year a even faster version cames out?
reminds me of a designer who kept saving his work as "design-0.psd"... design-312.psd" and after the deadline hit, it became "design-final.psd", "design-final2.psd", "design-FINAL_REAL.psd" etc etc etc.
So the wiretap law is about securing communication for 2 parties. well, one was the officer and the other the person being arrested. the communication was secured alright. just one of parties involved choosed to publicize it.
Also, I didn't see the video, why the police was after him or if he knew the police was pullingh him. I just jumped to the end of the video, and if that ever happened to me, a guy get's out of the car with gun in hand, no uniform, not showing any badge, i'd probably try to run over him and get away of what looked like a highway bike robbery.
that remids me to tell motorola and att to go fuck themselves.
i love the concept of the backflip.
external keyboard. a "stand" mode. genius.
i might even like the odd back touchpad.
but the speed of the cpu and memory will not run even android 1.6!!!! cmon!
and instead of releasing a new model with the same things, and hardware to suport 2.1, no. they will probably start all over and release a round model or something.
hate that about cellphones.
same with nokia. e61i was perfect. but slow. then they release e71. it was fast. but didn't had ANY of what made e61i good.
1. No way to input digits in any system (office conferencing, home banking, etc)
2. A HUGE delay in SMS. messages may arrive instantly, or take up to 12hours. (using the google voice app on the nexus one. can't get more compliant than this)
3. Broken SIP support (can be worked around if you happen to have a Gizmo account from last century. no way to get one now)
4. Call recording is only if you receive the call. (both ways are legal/ilegal in most country. but they decided to do evil and predict the law anyway)
5. Still broken as hell for domains. (you just get a broken gwt ui. no content. no way to get a number now for your domain account. great way to recompensate for loyalty)
btw having it on the g/h keys is the dumbest thing.
if you had it on the j or f key, then touch typists would already have the clit on their finger. no need to move it to reach and then point. just point.
but then you would have a right hand and left hand keyboard.
> Correction. It's that way for hardware that is NOT sold as a 'PC' and has always been so.
And you draw the line for "sold as 'PC'" where?
My phone is getting closer and closer to being my PC. In fact, only in the US you have to buy services that are plain data as separate CRAP:
e.g. in Brazil i would pay Data, and use data for maps, chat, video, audio, web.
in the US. $10 for *MOBILE* web. $15 for GPS maps provided by the operator $17 for videos $15 for music.
oh, and now that we have smart phones and we can WORK AROUND those prices, they are going great lengths to block your data connection unless you pay the premium $30 'now we promisse, it's real data' plan extra.
> People walking down the street, complaining about Apple's control. What a fucking joke, wake up and join the real world. A small technical elite might make such pronouncements, the majority do not care about this stuff.
And in the 80's one would hear
They will always buy a mainframe because that's what solves the problem. It's there. it's the dominant player in the market. it's established. Who is dumb enough to buy a personal computer or even an apple computer? just because you can do basic? hummmpf... get real! everyone will pay the ibm premium tax.
Google was sued because it failed to respond to take down notices issued by the govt in this case.
So your scheme would have to be: 1. Post anonymous crap about yourself 1.3. inform the authorities and deal with costs of that 1.5. wait for the bureaucratic process 1.8. expect Google to denie the authoritie's take down notice. 2. Sue 3..... 4. Profit!
> Yeah, just remember that genius and madness are only separated by a thin line.
In this case it isnt so.
He is genius. he knows more math then you do. and he knows more about a good life then you do.
because you dont understand him, considers him a madman on both accounts probably. Only so in the math part someone already told you to belive that he is a genius. not that you would understand it too. as you do not understand his views on a good life.
Ouch. that was something uninformed. _even_ for slashdot standards.
using opera mini and mobile since v3.something on my nokias.
It is a browser. it has a html+css rendering engine. and runs js on mobile version.
The only thing is, if you enable an option (AN OPTION!) in the app, it will fetch the images from some opera server instead of the real server, and that opera server will run `pngcrush --mother-fckr-aggressive` on the images. and probably the html/css/js (did i mention it interprets javascript on the mobile version?) will go trhu `gzip -9`.

yes. because they really want to know the kind of porn you look for with ssl google.

which is perfectly fine.
> HTC is hedging their bets (a smart move), but will this lead to disparate Android UI's between platforms?
No. This will result in crippled android devices and in return microsoft will not cut their piece of profits on the windows phones.
even if it generates the value mentioned, it's for apple and korea selling ipods. not for the artists.
good luck doing that! ...but if you manage to, please to tell me! really.
U = 500.000 * n
U being the number of android users.
n being the number of android phone models
hence, we have U = !795.398.001
You contradict yourself on paragraph 1 and 2.
on 1 you say "google worked to provide google voice to apple users, and was blocked by apple greed"
on 2 you say "google is to blame for not working to provide navigation to apple users"
isn't that they are not willing to work for apple users and then loose all that effort again?

you are comparing Content providers with Transport providers.
Video games, TV, Radio. they are content providers
ISP, Telephone, Mail. They are Transport Providers.
bottom line is:
Would you buy a locked down computer sold by you ISP?

Cut everyone in three pieces.
That's the easiest solution ever.
no math, no rounding, no court. done.
"relatively easy to make" yet all we have is some lousy drawing.
>They aren't generally considered "attacks"; because they are conducted by the owners of the hardware and the connection;
Yes. The one they own and you rent. hence man in the middle.
what's so friggin difficult to understand?
i agree with you. and why exactly are we posting here?
it's not like we came to /. for the news.

air strike? who care the means. if they alledge murder, the target is the main point of interest, fine editor.
air strike on some iranian military base? air strike on the twin towers?
see?
