if they had ONE product designer they would have noticed that 90% of the time you type something is the page you want to go to... how do you type numbers on the original kindle? you hunt them down with the arrows! just like typing will be on this new cheap model. there are no numbers on the keyboard. not even with a modifier key.
also, have you ever tried to zoom in and read a PDF? it took 2 sec to scroll... ok... eink saves battery... but the dumb software only moved from showing the left margin to showing the right margin! you would have half the text in one screen, half on another screenfull... with no fricking way to center the zoom in the text, which would have fit perfectly... but no, you have to see 1/2 of the text width with white space
true. also, i spend $600+ on a crappy nexus one from google. thinking it would be the most hacker friendly phone. it's a nightmare! not to mention that AT&T and TMOBILE had google by the balls to force them to sell single-band crappy phones!
when i got the Touchpad for $99 last week, i was blown away on how open the system is! - plug in usb. access root shell! amazing!

Once i started getting emails from some lady that was letting some guy with the same name use her apartment while she was out of town. Thankfully i saw those before my wife....or someone looking for empty apartments in the rich part of town to borrow stuff.
When is someone going to DO something about the possibly government sponsored hacking taking place in China? It ought to be brought up at the UN, or trade meetings, or SOMETHING! If the Chinese government won't stop it, we need to cut them off.

so, after everyone bought unlimited data plan (with the most spoty coverage and dubious bandwidth) AT&T and others actually forced companies like google, apple, skype, etc, etc to forbid data heavy applications on the network.
everyone complied, and only allowed data heavy apps on wifi (skype, itunes >3mb, google hold back android sip client, and many other factual anecdotes)
now, that everyone is complaining and using rooted phones anyway, AT&T decided to fight back with data limits.
around july AT&T cancelled every new unlimited data plan offering (rembember, they were FORCING it, now it's IMPOSSIBLE). and around december everyone started announcing data heavy uses. skype now allows talk on 3g, google anounced sip client native (no more via a fake developer add on) etc etc
what's the joke you ask? US consumers are the joke.
