    I don't think we elect them based on their ratings system policies.
    I don't recall it being a big issue during elections.
    I'm not even sure any of the mainstream parties would differ significantly on their policy on this issue.

    I think the idea is to
    - warn others to stay away from this junk
    - provide a fix for those already stung
    - prove where the fault lies.

    Sure, it's a waste of time for one person, but think of the time that's been saved for everyone else and the entertainment value provided for us.

    Does anyone know of any downside to lopping your legs off below the knee and "installing" a pair of these?

    I know someone who's feet and ankle bones are fusing/disintegrating, why shouldn't they look forward to this?

    Ceramics are already used where you need precision e.g. wave guides.

    Don't compare this to recycling of cans.
    Melting Aluminium (from cans) is not so hard (relatively speaking).
    Changing Aluminium Oxides (like alumina from bauxite or alumina left over from this Hydrogen process) into Aluminium is hard.

    Yah
    I'm using it with both Linux and Windows.
    Tunnels and point-to-point.

    I used to use IPSec, a lot of hassle, takes too long to bring the tunnel back up if it goes down, would go down and not come back up without manual intervention.

    OpenVPN however has been perfectly reliable for the 6 weeks I've been using it so far.
    The Windows GUI version from http://openvpn.se/ seems to work simply enough for many Windows users.

    Reads in your crappy HTML, turns it into compliant XML, then dumps it out as nice clean HTML.

    Yeah, difficulty settings should adjust relative to your skill, not define some absolute skill.
    I like being pushed hard in a game, but some may like to casually throw a few rail slugs around while concentrating on the scenery, so it's still nice to have control over difficulty even if it is dynamically adjusted.

    I would have said that company resources are provided specifically for uses that benefit the company, not for staff to do with as they wish.
    Just because some are ignorant enough to think that resources like company time/bandwidth/diskspace are "free" (or just choose to ignore the cost) does not excuse them.

    (yes, this post is hypocritical, but they owe me some of all the resources mentioned above :-P )

    Boot a 2.6.9 or 2.6.10 kernel with devfs.
    Unplug your USB Modem (CDC ACM module).
    Wait for the kernel panic.

    Not even confined to modems, the USB hotplug code was broken and was not clearing references correctly.

    With the energy density you'd be playing with why use fibres?
    Wouldn't you do the Julian May thing and just build huge evacuated tubes with mirrors every few kilometres to account for the curvature or the Earth?
    Is there a gas we could use instead of a nasty vacuum?

    Actually, I regularly find cases where 256 colour PNG is smaller than GIF.
    Given that the resulting images are identical I think it pays check both formats and use whatever ends up smaller.
