MLB will likely go the way of the NBA, if they haven't already. This is NBA's position (from their successful Motorola/Stats lawsuit):
"No electronic media personnel shall transmit scores and/or other game information out of an NBA arena (by telephone or by any other means) more than three times during each quarter and once during each of the two quarter breaks without the prior specific written approval of the NBA."

Not only available, but free online. Making it hard to steal, but still...;)
I read it in the day and parts haven't aged real well. Still lots of good stuff though>
Where have you been? Free Speech was acquired in 2001 by a consortiun of corporations led by the pharmaceutical and energy industries and Disney in a rider to the USA PATRIOT Act.
Is it an election year in Great Britain?
In the US it seems this "criminals, p[a]edophiles, and terrorists" chant happens most as campaign rhetoric or as smoke and mirrors to deflect attention away from something else.

I agree completely with your arguments. Additionally, a point I haven't seen in the vicinity if this thread: A passenger/conversation partner is part of the driving experience and will sense when conditions are changing, eg congestion ahead, and withdraw from the conversation. The person on the other end of a phone conversation doesn't have this feedback and might even attempt to get the driver more involved in the conversation if they sense them slipping away.

I've commented on these pages before that I really think there is some value in the Sinclair system of the command set being on special keys, or key combinations. It leaves the new programmer's mind free to concentrate on the logic flow of the program without the pitfall of typos. That was the longest part of the learning curve when I upgraded to a C=64: spotting and fixing all these new kinds of errors resulting from typos.
You're right about the low-light uselessness of an LCD viewfinder. As other responses have noted, they also tend to fade to uselessness in bright situations. I also find that with my current glasses prescription they are useless for manual focusing or even framing.
The only time I use mine is when I have to have the camera in some awkward high or low position in order to get the shot I want.
A lot of problems in this area exist because we let them.
When a business, marketer. rebate processor, loyalty card issuer, or any entity gathering [too much] information uses the phrase "Your Information" they obviously mean "information about you that we own." It is never used to mean YOUR (as in you own it) information.
In the perfect world we would be able to retain control of something of OURS that has value.
"You want my name, address and employer's industry? Fine. I charge a modest $5 for that."
or:
"Since you are no longer my bank, please document that you have deleted MY information from the non-regulatory areas of your database. Thank you."
or:
"Here's the email address you want in order for me to download your drivers. Be advised that it will expire once I've completed the process."
