Just wondering what the bandwidth characteristics and architecture for such an infrastructure would be? We can all set up APs and from what little I know forwarding packets to neighbouring packets is a no brainer but wouldnt it be horrendously slow beyond the last mile itself? (Limited bandwidth (total pipe size of 54 mbps..realistically 20 mbps) and really bad latency. Is there a project where this has been attempted at relatively large scales, what performance did they achieve. Anyone with any info about this?

Something your ignoring or are unaware of is that when you are trying to brainwash people to conform to your agenda its easier to do so by painting a picture of black and white. According to that world view if your against us (western in this case) your evil and since KFC is clearly western and all those damn western people must be punished... the rest is history. And don't try to paint people in Pakistan as being any more ignorant because well we've seen the exact same tactic used to great effect in numerous countries:)

I'm used to using a keyboard instead of the mouse as much as possible and know all the shortcuts (rightclick on link , press t to open in new tab etc) and trying to use opera despite its stability and performance was frustrating. Is there any firefox mode (keyboard shortcuts / pop up menu / pull down modifier) available for Opera?

The basic concept is to fight those that oppress and invade but if they cease hostilities it is incumbent on Muslims to do the same.
And I would strongly urge you to read the Quran without any biases, just take it as a random text and go through the entire thing. Yes there are many muslims that don't know what Islam is and that don't even read the Quran but there is a reason for its popularity and its appeal and not everyone is ignorant

The same thing that I guess happens to any people (nation, religious faction) that promote theology over logic/science and pragmastism? They eventually are screwed over big time. One problem being that rulers that will improve the situation are usually detrimental to corporate interests and are usually eliminated one way or the other causing things to go from bad to worse (someone else mentioned Syriana, thats a prime example of how it actually plays out, real world example would be shah of iran etc).

The bottom line of course is that they need to be able to smart enough to know when they're being played (CIA etc) and the difference between peaceful protests and violence/vandalism. Not sure how you implant that culturally.
Also the religion that people practise isnt Islam to a great extent. Read up on the Quran itself its very pro knowledge, pro science, pro humanism etc. Including some quotes

In science you don't need a better alternative, you only need proof that the theory is incorrect/not accurate (and lack of knowing everything is NOT proof, read up on the god of gaps for people that think that).
I'm reasonably certain that people around the turn of the last century were also saying similar things and i'm reasonably certain a century into the future the same will be true when they look back at us. I guess one could say maturity would depend on ones perspective.
