I am also a proud owner of an Addams Family pinball machine, though it needs some TLC. It's missing a ball and none of the solenoids powered up last time I turned it on. I am thrilled to own it, and to put the money and effort into restoring it to fully working condition.
In short, no. I was looking into it myself, and the ipod uses a strange formatting. Seems to me you can't even buy a 40gb ipod and take the hard drive out and put that in your 20gb (no point, either). The security Apple uses has not yet been cracked.
Actually, I believe that it is the correct form factor, although I'm not sure that the drive itself will work, due to the ipod's strange formatting. You can't take a generic correct dimension drive and put it into an ipod.
However, you can do so with a Karma. If the drive fits physically, it will almost definitely work with the Karma. It just needs to be ATA-5 AFAIK. Oh, and riovolution.com has some people who happen to work at Rio, so you can ask them any other questions you might have.
I was wondering if anyone else has had the problem that I (personally) have had:
if I have my headset on, and am at the sound board, I usually get RFI from the board, even with my hands hovering 6 inches over it. I'm not sure whether or not other people can hear it, and I can't test it because I am no longer part of the crew. However, I know that the interference was loud, and quite painful. As I didn't have my own copy of the script (I don't know what the stage managers were thinking...), I needed the headset desperately to hear my cues. As I was sound manager and we have a buggy system, I desperately need my hearing the best it can be to detect feedback before it is detected by the audience. You don't know how bad it is when I hear feedback now, after not having been on the show for over a year. I'm like a war veteran.
Unfortunately, due to personal conflicts with the director of crew, I am no longer on the crew. He doesn't know what he's missing by not having me there. I'm serious.
New guy, didn't have a clue what he was doing. He was arrogant, and acted like he knew what he was doing. I couldn't stand him, so I left. This was his first show and around my seventh. I knew exactly what I was doing, and he wouldn't listen to a thing I said. Unfortunate, considering I knew the wiring to the lights and sound, I knew the light board like the back of my hand having run it for several years, and I knew sound pretty well. Also, everyone that knew what was going on (ex sound-running-student and the old stage directors) all left, so I think that the manager is completely on his own.
Sorry for the attached rant though.
I have been searching for one of these for a while... a long while. I agree wholeheartedly. I may go as far as $150 if it plays -rw's.
And the average person doesn't mind, think about people with cd players. Red book cd players, which can hold 80 minutes.
The one problem that might be faced (but probably easily overcome) is the issue of: plus or minus?
I was actually talking to someone (a Mac person) today, and he was talking about a CAD prog and how it was 16-bit and wouldn't run on the g5... Any idea as to the 16-bit compatibility of the Athlon 64 (FX) and the Opteron/Itanium?
I do want to be able to run Win3.11wfw on my Athlon 64 3400+ of course;-)
I flew out to California 2 days ago (and am there now) and they allowed me to use my cd player, and my laptop, on the plane when I flew
Oh, and before the plane left, they let me into the cockpit. In fact, I have a picture (too lazy to post it, and don't want my home computer [web server] slashdotted) of myself in the pilot's seat.
Security. Right.
I got a nice Beach Babes 2004 calendar from a friend out here in Cali (I'm visiting her for a week, I live in NY)
Although it's late, I think I will get her some lingerie (I had decided not to, thinking that her boyfriend would kill me, but hey: I'm in NY, he's in California...:-D )
P.S.: She got me the Despair calendar last year from thinkgeek, along with some caffeine:-)
I love this girl!
"PDAs which we can watch movies on, play music on, surf the web via our phone or WiFi on" I have one of those, it's called the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500. As for the cell phone, I'm waiting for that part. It can, however, accept a special type of cellular modem. Surf the web via wifi? If you mean bluetooth, and not 802.11b, I can do that. If you mean 802.11b, that would be quite an interesting phone. I want a cell phone that does 802.11b! Or maybe even G!
Oh, and movie playing is not native, but you juat have to install the terminal program (included), and then install mplayer
"The X-Rays from an average CRT (including that television set) are much more harmful, since, unlike the microwave radiation used by the above, X-Rays are ionizing radiation and *DO* cause cellular mutations"
Then my cells are horribly mutated... My parents should sue Syba and KDS... and Sony for the tv, and everyone else. We should become Amish.
I have the suspicion that those who object to this would think it would be the coolest thing if RedHat decided to help a school become a pure Linux organization, with a Zaurus PDA for every child.
I would enjoy that. I would move to any city that had a school that did that. I love Linux and hate M$.
But what model Zaurus? Has to be a 5x00 (preferably 5600), not the s700 or whatever.
LiftMaster 8550 with MyQ does this: http://www.liftmaster.com/consumerweb/products/liftmastermyqenabledproducts

And you think that the Chrome team is that much better about caring for its community? The bug report through the story below basically proves the opposite. http://tech.slashdot.org/story/11/10/18/2120255/no-tab-relocation-coming-for-chrome
http://xkcd.com/927/ Nuff said.

At http://www.cheaplinux.org/. We burn so you don't have to.
The cave men had fire without wires, and we're talking about how advanced we are. Hell, they didn't even have to worry about RF interference!
I found the DVD version of Knoppix (3.2 unfortunately... it was for the thing in Germany) at www.cheaplinux.org for $9.99.
