    Why is Google taking an equity stake in a company that promotes such a toxic workplace? Shameful. It is almost like they are in it for the money or something.

  7. Computer Neural networks work nothing like the human brain. Even calling these programs "neural networks" is misleading. Saying you have created a "simple worms neural network" is a complete lie. It implies that they have replicated worm level brains in the computer. They havent'.

    Millenials think everything is AI, because they have no idea how technology really works. They are consumers, not producers. So anything that mimics intelligence is like magic to them. Meanwhile the smart people know that chess playing (or Go playing) computers are not AI, just clever programs.

    Yes it is like that. In fact, it is very much like that which makes it suspicious since it is impossible to stand on the coast in France and notice a butterfly in New York. What they are doing are not directly observing, they are speculating based on some evidence. It is just speculation and educated guesses.

  24. If I am a mechanic working on an engine I would rather see the manual projected directly on my eye than having to take a break to walk away to refer to a manual sitting on a desk. Every minute I am not actively working on the engine means lost revenue. And if revenue is lost, the executives might have to settle with a smaller yacht then they deserve. We should aim for 100% productivity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  25. This is a good idea. There is no reason you should be wary about projecting a stream of light on your retina. Just remember to run a screensaver, otherwise you will have the "Intel Inside" logo forever burned into your vision.
