DSPAM v3.2 Released
·
· Score: 2, Informative
I'm running a mailserver with postfix, dspam, squirrelmail, courier pop/imap, amavis and Postfix Admin where I also integrated the DSPAM phpControlCenter.
DSPAM has currently given my 0 false positives. The clue with dspam is to start with a clean database for each user and let them start to 'sort out their spam'. For imap it's stupidly simple. Everyone has two folders "spam" and "notspam", where you can drag&drop an email to the right folder. A script picks up any emails in each folder every hour and do the necessary add-spam/not-spam processes. For pop it's just a matter of forwaring the email to add-spam/not-spam adresses.
This works so very well, because each use get to decide which emails he think is spam and which emails he would like to recieve.
Also, if they log on to their webmail they can control what emails are marked as spam from their DSPAM phpControlCenter, and also correct any false positives, if there are any, or choose to block sender adresses and more.
Hopefully this goes better than the war on cocaine with the hunt for Pablo Escobar. Because wow! They did catch in the end, spending hundreds of million of $ and what was the result? A much more sophisticated drug cartel (Cali) with the Columbian government on their side.
I don't get it. Why must everything US does be so fucking shortsighted?! Why be so fucking stupid?
Yup, either just sit down and pray for peace, or else go fully ballistic with War on Terror, War on Education, War on Cancer, War on people, War on This and War on That.
You could at least stop selling weapons and training those people you fight.
Anyway, just read this huge artcile on education in the US, and I just have to say 'wow'. Things are going to hell.
How in hell can you get 'burned' on buying something you obviously wanted? (I'm taking it for granted that you wouldn't have bought it if you didn't want it). Besides, NO ONE could say that they didn't know that there would later be released some extended editions of the movies. Tho.. If you actually didn't know this? It's still obvious that you thought the movies were so good that you did want the on DVD. IF there later came a special edition of the movie, I would have considered that release a 'bonus' I could wish for/buy/rent at a later time.
"the money grubbing dept. is in full gear in Middle Earth" -WTF?! If people didn't make things you wanted to buy, what the f### would you spend money on? Saving them for the day you die?
Probably like apache. You have 1.3.xx releases while at the same time 2.0.xx releases appeared.
Bugfixes etc.

Here in Norway we had a person just arrested for for armed robbery of a bank. He was actually serving one of his sentences when he was caught this latest time.......
Previously he has killed a person, commited several armed and brutal robberies and various other criminal acts.
Lucky for him that he hasn't been caught with a few grams of narcotics, then he would probably be locked up for a loooong time.
Another funny thing was that the police confiscated everything he owns, which was calculated to be worth around 12million NOK. Crime doesn't pay?
No, I totally disagree with you. You probably saw the wrong movie. How anyone can sum up Blade Runner with 'I thought Blade Runner sucked', is beyond me. Someone could describe StarShip Troopers 2 with 'it totally sucked ass', but not Blade Runner!
Shoot 99% of the passengers. That way we'll be 99% certain that we nailed the terrorist. Anyway, which terrorist will blow up a plane with only him/them on?
Also, 99% is A LOT better than any ID or other methods used today.
If you want a game that relay heavily on stupid rules, buy Doom3. It's entire gameplay is based on the presumption that in the future with much more advanced techonlogy, neither duct tape nor advanced 'see in the dark' technology exists.
And you would need another pair of glasses when you go snowboarding. Sports glasses for playing Squash, or doing Martial Arts and..... Well, it adds up.
Also, it's a big hassle. Ask the last person at my taekwon-do club which got his glasses punched in.
Anyway. Now you can get lenses which can be worn for a month without having to be taken out/cleaned. That's simple.
If we increase our understanding of image manipulating it will work both ways. If you know how to do something 'backwards' you'll also be in a better position to do it the other way around.
That argument is SO old and so wrong. It would be true -IF- Zend were the only one able/allowed to make an optimizer, but... They aren't! So what then?
Rewrite your first sentence:
"The thing that bothers me about PHP is that it is Free... unless you want it to run fast."
And add a few more links because in addition to what Zend have we have: ionCube A commercial, closed source but free php accelerator. APC Free and open-source compiler cache.
There are SEVERAL ways to run php code -fast- and an optimizer is just one of the things you can use. But a compiler would most probably be A LOT better than just an optimizer. Seem to be that you are just fooled by some (Zend's) marketing department.
Why someone have given you +2 Insightful is a question tho?....
Why is this modded +5 interesting, when it's not based on real world facts, but a construced situation where you don't have access to the source and if something like this was to happen, you couldn't fork off the project.
Who cares if Zend sells out? Well, the parent does but who else?
"I've yet to meet a single customer of those laptops who did not have a problem within the first year"
You are actually quite right there... I got a brand new Inspiron 8200, with 1600x1200 lcd, 768mb, 60gb HD, cd-writer and dvd-rom almost two years ago. It was worth a small fortune that time. But only after a month the harddrive and the cd-writer broke. I'm still not sure about why the broke, but me, playing Counter-Strike on the computer, getting all worked up, and slamming my fist into the keyboard (as I usually do with ordinary keyboards) might have something to do with it. It's actually -not- a good idea punching you laptop keyboard!
Anyway, Dell sent a serviceman the next day who installed a new harddrive and cd-writer. I can't say anything less than that Dell kicks ass. Seriously. This Dell laptop is the best computer I've ever had. Even tho it costed a small fortune at the time of buying, it was only a few hundred dollars more expensive than buying a similar laptop from the cheapest computer stores in Norway. Stores which service don't even come close to next-day onsite support and it's like.
My gaming pc is a stock built Dell Dimension, and it's just very good.
These Dell's with Windows XP is just rock stable. No crashes or anything.
As for IBM, the only machines I've seen have been so ugly that I wouldn't accept one if it was offered to me for free. But then again, that seems to be IBMs 'thing' for the last few decades. Make everything so ugly that people won't ever mistake it for anything else than some work-related equipment.
That's still the scariest thing I've ever played. I could never play for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. I never managed to play it through, eiter. It was just so increadibly well made.....
Radeon 9600 has -never- -ever- been top notch! If you believe otherwise, start reading on the different hardware sites.
It's been sub par from day one. It was made in a hurry to replace Radeon 9500 which was a MUCH better card/chip than 9600. Problem with 9500 was that it was too good because it was just a small task to change it to match 9700. So what did ATI do, they released 9600 which has always been a poor performer but couldn't be used as a 9700 so it was released as a cheap card to perform as a cheap card. You should have tried to get a used 9500 or a 9700. They you wouldn't have had any problems now.
My computer which is two years old has no problems with Far Cry, UT 2004 (at high settings) or Doom 3 when it comes along.
Buy the right hardware and you don't have to swap it every year. Don't buy the cheap cards like MX, 9200 or 9600. Just buy the year old high performance cards. Right now you could go for a cheap 9800 pro since the x800 has been released.
I don't get this.. Nothing in your post make any sense.
"If I can see who is messaging me I can choose to be charged or not." -uh? It's the sender who pays.
"I'm sorry, SMS may be neat but when I first got the sales pitch about including it in my service I laughed right in that poor salespersons face." -Why wouldn't you want SMS? It's really great. I use it for everything. One of my servers go down. *bip* I get an SMS telling me which server has problems. My GF needs to tell me something but I can't get to the phone. *bip* An SMS. How can you make it 'more intelligent'? It's simple, it works and it is really usefull. How can anything beat that?
I bet he'll use the same standards which US/Britain/Germany/Russia use when they 'screen out' their potential weapon buyers, or buyers for nuclear technology..... Because Iran, North Korea, Iraq and other nations didn't buy any such equipment from 'us'?
It seems to work since no western made weapons have ever been used to harm innocent people or supress a nation..... I'm sure of it. Yes. Absolutely positive.
So what you are saying is that it's not ok for one person to just sell to the highest bidder or to whomever best suits your political view at the moment, but for nations is all fine and dandy?
I still fail to see the connection between heavy downloading of a film and it's lack of profit.
Take Lord of the Rings trilogy or Matrix, probably the most downloaded, pirated, copied movies ever, and they still made tons and tons and tons of money.
Quake, Doom, Half-Life, probably some of the most copied games in history. They still sold tons of copies.
Same with music albums.
To me it seems that the more something is pirated and copied to more money it will bring in.

I have a question?
I have downloaded Half-Life 5 times from the internet.
I also own 3 original copies.
Does this mean that I owe Value $35 x 2 = $70?
So despite me buying 3 copies of Half-Life they have still lost money on me..?

Next, US will require export license on coco-nuts. Rumors have it that several people die of coco-nut attacks each year.
