I work for a company that has to support several CRAPTASTIC GE medical apps. They can't keep the software running in a very limited Windows environment where the clients run on very specific support versions of Internet Explorer. They're planning on moving apps to the cloud where the clients might end up running on anything from Chrome to IE11? LAUGHING OUT LOUD. Not a snowball's chance in hell!
Amen -- and it DOES take a fair amount of skill to be able to long-distance target shoot. If you can hit a steel plate at 500M with irons, you've got a fair amount of skill... AND it didn't destroy the target or kill anything.
I really wonder how a libtard gets such ideas. The Republicans in the country are largely FOR pipelines. The Demotards and their railroad-owning buddy Warren Buffet, want more railroads.
If you want to do what the high-dollar bank auditors do that I have to deal with (banking IT customers), just BUY a pen test app, run it on network, and hand over a 300 page PDF that includes goofy things like "LaserJet 4000 Printer - Old/No SSL web interface. Upgrade firmware recommended."
My rates went up about 25% the first year, deductibles DOUBLED. Second year, another 25% on the premium, they game us some funky health savings fund as a "bonus" but after you go through the $500 the company places in there, you're on the hook for the next $5000 in deductibles.
People getting subsidies that weren't supposed to get subsidies, or got too much, and now have no job, but have to pay back some of the subsidies because it's not counted as income?
Oh, don't forget that the IRS sent out everyone's 1099 (or whatever it was) with incorrect info, causing people to have to pay their tax-prep service AGAIN for amended returns.
Get your head out. Of course he didn't personally do that, but I know MANY doctors (including my old family physician), simply said "enough of the BS" and quit their practice. My doctor, that I wish I could have kept, is now back at the Univ. of Iowa med school...
Exactly... Once it's under the jurisdiction of the FCC, there's very little we can do. I'm envisioning FCC licenses for various websites. You're a blogger? You reach over 10,000 "listeners"? You must pay for a broadcast license! Just like the airways are "common," the interwebs will be considered "common" and could be subject to the same rules as you see in radio/TV.
No lie... My ex-father-in-law fell prey to one of those "you won the lottery" BS scams, and cashed out about $13k of credit cards before he wised up. Local cops & the FBI wouldn't do a damn thing. "We have things like murders and real crime to track down, so this isn't a high priority."
A phone is going to get a report written, and forgotten about.
It also only works if management is actually prompt to do the bonuses.... We have a relatively decent incentive plan where I work, and it's supposed to be paid quarterly. Not once in the past 2 years has it been paid on the quarter - In fact, they're 3 months late, and God forbid they ever "stack" the late ones together to make it a "Very Nice Bonus".
Having an always-late incentive definitely lessens the amount of hard work you're willing to put in if you never see it.
Agreed... Centricty... Cough Cough. Today's software on yesterday's vulnerable platforms!

And I thought it was the land of fruits and nuts... all the oranges and almonds, and idiot politicians.

They JUST signed a new law boosting the gas tax here in Iowa $.10 a gallon. Guess they'll need to lower that to take care of fewer roads.
Who am I kidding?
Amazon, WalMart et al, are still selling that sh!t on their sites.
Transparency my ass.

Mod up!

Exactly. If they wanted health care reform, they'd have cut the insurance companies out of the middle, place malpractice lawsuit limits in place, etc.

We used to have a nice 80/20 plan...

Great process, that Obummercare is.

330+ page summary into four pages? This isn't fucking Cliff Notes you saw when writing a book report in high school!
Mod parent up!

Amen -- 300+ pages of 'regulation' that's conveniently not set to be publicized until after it's approved.
Can't wait for them to rule on licenses for websites like /. in order to have a "public forum".
Much better than melting: I target shoot my old drives with a 5.56 62 grain steel core round. Pretty much shreds everything with one hit.
Then they used a very crappy method of version checking - the command line "ver" command doesn't return anything like "Windows 95"

Go figure, silly comment by an AC Obama supporter... Chickenshit.
Water? Like from the toilet?

Using it with a track pad isn't bad... It's HIDEOUS with one of those joystick-mouse control nobbies.
