Your description refers to Premillennial Dispensationalism which is less than 200 years old and largely limited to the United States. Historical Christianity does not subscribe to this view taking a more symbolic view on the "Mark of the Beast" beast passage that it refers to those who adopt the practices/faith of the world(essentially non-believers) and thereby are not believers of the gospel message(Grace and Favor to those who believe in Christ's perfect life death and resurrection). The view you shared is probably less than 10% of Christianity as no Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, Orthodox, (and many others) subscribes to that view. That said, it is the one that seems to get all the attention lately. Lastly, you did say many people believe it and I can't argue with that; just trying to point out that most Christians worldwide do not.

Agreed. My PSP + 1Gb Duo has made my long train commute much better. Looking forward to what Apple comes out with. What is really needed (and I think this is as important as screen size, etc) is a way to make video xfer as quick and easy as audio xfer(e.g. ripping a CD with iTunes). Whoever solves that and makes it fast will have the killer product.

I think it is legit. At the Game Stop where I pre-ordered 2 in Sept, they had a huge stack of them behind the counter on Sunday and they stopped taking orders in October.

So, that(the big pile) tends to support demand outweighing actual supply. I would say they had a couple hundred of them.

....all I can say is my 9 year old daugher and 13 year old son are thrilled. As consumers of the Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advanced, then Game Boy Advanced SP, and now the DS they are in a better position to judge than I. And, they are completely thrilled by this unit; particularily the graphics, second screen and wireless capability.

I am certain word of mouth on the unit at elementary school and middle school will ensure the success of this system.

I am just curious what Nintendo will do next. The addition of a second screen was pretty creative, but where will they go next?

The East vs. West issue is bigger than Bush/Kerry or Iraq. I recommend Meic Pearse's book "Why the Rest Hates the West".

It descibes well how this is a cultural issue which has been building for sometime and is much more complex then whether Bush or Kerry wins the election next month.

The problem is complex, it is everybodies and we better get this right.

The United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy.

Regarding your statement the US is too involved in a global dictatoship, that is a stretch.

I agree, however, the US is too involved in pushing our culture(such as it has become) on the rest of the world. But, this is an aspect not limited solely to our time, nor the US in isolation.

As a US citizen and a conservative, I feel the best path is to get our own house in order and if we desire to lead, do so by example.

  10. RIM and MS PocketPC on Are PDAs Simply Finished? · · Score: 1

For Enterprises, and anyone else interested in security, the Blackberry is the way to go. We are interested in the PocketPC as well, but so far security has been problematic. The RIM product is the only 'approved' deployed PDA at our organization because it is the only secure solution available right now. We have thousands of RIMs deployed while continue to try and secure the PPC. As far as websites go, as long as you access WML type sites(or mobile friendly sites) there is no issue. And, PPC has the same issues as the BB in rendering 'desktop-targeted' websites. Both devices can render HTML or WML; neither can handle Javascript. For us, the content rendering was not a factor. It was security.
