Lol I once paid $25 a month for dialup. Then again this is in Australian dollars (60 US cents), it was good speeds, and unlimited access. Suck it AOL users!
As far as I can think there are many possible outcomes: 1: Cheats become widely available. Cheat programs are made to stop them eg. punkbuster. This = good. I don't mind the supposed "bandwidth hogging" programs on cable.
2: Cheats are made but not let out for free use. This would be a small problem due to only a few l33t hax0rz having cheats. I prefer to just kill them with my handhack(tm).
3: A combination of 1 & 2.
4: Valve delays hl2 to make changes to the code. I hate to say it but I'd rather 1,2 or 3 than this. Besides, anti cheat could possibly be put in with a patch.---best scenario.
If your American justice system is anything, Kazaa should win if the RIAA has done something illegal. Money and lawyer quality shouldn't matter.
In fact I think the aim of every law should be stated right at the top, so those damn loopholes can just be overruled by the judge if they aren't in the "vibe" of the law (to quote the castle).
Next time any government wants to pass a new bill, post it on slashdot! All the users will poke holes in it and then it can be rewritten. You guys should get paid dammit!
Do they really think a fifth to ninth grader would fall for this?
T:Those albums you worked so hard on are now available to download for free!
5th to 9th: umm.I haven't sung or played anything yet (pfft, idiots).
Anyway, who do the RIAA think they are!? It's not like they are able to change the education system. They seem to just pull so many random shocking stunts. Really it gets so annoying hearing news about what evil incarnate is doing this week to prevent piracy.
64 bit does not make it twice as fast . Having dual 2ghz processors is not as fast as having one 4ghz(which unfortunately doesn't exist yet) Although having 2200 processors might be faster than 1 4ghz:).
PS. I'm waiting around for those 80gHz diamond wired cpu's. Then I can play Doom3!
They already do this with gas bottles at servo's. You take ur unfilled one and swap it for a filled one... But I'd imagine you would own your own set of batteries, and change them at your house, like current rechargables. Unless of course ur talking hydrogen fuel cells.
What happens to the members who just signed up? I would feel pretty bad if I payed my $35 to find out it's free 2 months later. Do they have any advantages over free users?
To battle the hippies, these are the steps to be taken.
1: Invite all of them to a conference. 2: Change the conference place from, say, the conference room to your say, basement. 3: Lock door, whip and feed periodically.
Wouldn't it be possible to regulate emails? For example- ISPx monitors subject lines of incoming mail, if more than 50 are the same, it is checked if it is spam. Spam gone. When ordinary word scripts to block certain words are added, this would prolly be the unspammable ISP. Any reasons why this wouldn't work?
Despite the known dangers of DHMO, it continues to be used daily by industry, government, and even in private homes across the U.S. and worldwide. Some of the well-known uses of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:.....by elite athletes to improve performance
Please explain!?

"some 9,000 tons of home-use computers were scrapped -- the equivalent of 460,000 units."
Let's hope that their idea of equivalency isn't the same as the the RIAA's
rofl I don't think the modders got the joke. :p

:)
pun intended?
Really, on the error page they need to add an extra dot point in troubleshooting---
"check site is not linked to from slashdot.org"

I heard somewhere that large passenger aeroplanes produce infrasound that may harm people on board. My brain immediately thinks "airsickness!"
I could be onto something...
I blame it on Microsoft every odd day, RIAA every even day.

Why not just use real muscle to power my regular body parts with glucose

That's a bit contradictory when I think about it...if everyone has complete free speech, can't company A. say company B. sucks?

Not anymore!

Strange that Canada is more American than America :)
