    You don't need 10 different "frameworks" to do the same as a simple desktop app. You can use Bootstrap for the CSS, and, say, AngularJS for the logic. If you can't pick both of those up within a week, you really should find a new field of work.

    You are forgetting something rather crucial which jQuery provides - cross-browser compatibility with the same code. You talk of "your browser", when jQuery targets all modern browsers. Without mentioning that it seems you might not fully understand the benefits, which I'm sure was just an oversight on your part.

    It doesn't really matter. If there is no DRM, the content creators/distributors will not be as willing to release on the affected platforms, limiting choice. It's only when the DRM is "catastrophically" broken do they pay attention.

    The rise in nationalism is more to do with sloppy, lazy logic like yours than any inherent qualities of specific immigrants. It's easier to point the finger of blame at conspicuous immigrants than it is to admit you might be part of the problem. I don't want to Godwin, so I won't draw any comparisons, regardless of how chillingly accurate they are.

    The OED is simply a dictionary. They report on words being used. They don't decide what are or are not words, they just reflect the current usage. Shooting the messenger isn't helping.

  10. Nonsense. If it's in the public domain then anyone can find a reason to locate, digitize, restore, and monetize a film, as everyone has the right to do so. By stopping the film from being public domain we have to trust the sole rights holder has the desire, which clearly isn't always the case.

    You pay for schools because everyone in society benefits from having schools. A society of poorly-educated people is not successful and won't last for long. You don't pay for schools in case you need to send your kid there. The world is bigger than you, and you really should brush up on your logic, as the only way your crippled arguments make sense is if they are viewed through the prism of a toddler's reasoning skills.
