    I used to do that, then I switched to linux and stopped fixing their machines. I've been a lot happier.

    My friends that still use windows swear by avast, and say it catches a lot of things that AVG misses.

    ... is a swf authoring program. The only reason I still use windows is for swish, which does everything flash does in about 1/10 of the time. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it running with wine.

    I have service through a company called clearwire which is wireless at about DSL speeds. It was also $10/month cheaper than roadrunner

    The difference is that in linux the desktop is separate from the kernel. Crashing konqueror will not bring your system down. Also konqueror runs with the same permissions as the user, not the super-user

    I can't think of a program that doesn't behave that way. Do you still have the message list showing, or have you closed it?

    I prefer Kontact, but the behavior is the same.
