I thought I remember reading that Photoshop Elements was developed using QT. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If that's the case then they could release their low cost entry on to the linux platform easily.
True, but for many of us that's not the only reason to switch. You said those programs didn't run, I was merely pointing out that one of them does. Using an older version of photoshop is a minor inconvenience to me, instead of dealing with the various problems that windows has. The last 2 years of mine, NOT using windows have been much better than the years that came before when I used windows.
Are there any "real" statistics available? I find it hard to believe that linux does not already outnumber MacOs.
Also Microsoft's target market is NOT the knowledgable computer user, it's Joe Sixpack & every PHB in the world. A Microsoft Linux distro would instantly take a HUGE bite out of Red Hat & Novell's market.
I'm waiting with baited breath. It makes sense to me that their best option would be to release a distribution of their own. Then wehen companies choose between windows and linux, they can choose their distro.
You know the old addage "if you can't beat 'em... join 'em"
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nobody RTFA

Photoshop 6 runs fine on wine, but I haven't gotten later versions to run. I have never used 3ds max though.

... Or maybe it's a violation of the patriot act.
Sorry, links to Bugzilla from Slashdot are disabled.

Too bad he got interviewed by Alex, who has a voice like a dog chew toy.

Can I sync to it from my linux desktop?
I don't think this will replace my gameboy just yet.
I have 2, 1 from China that is not affected, & 1 from Tailand that is. The web form to order a replacement was easy to use.
is whether it will be "free as in beer"
Yeah, I'm sure the person responsible for making the appointment reads slashdot.
Can G.W. read?
I have 6 invites to give away.
I remember a late seventies TV show about sending a mission to the moon to clean up all the stuff on the moon. I think it was called "Salvage 1"
... they can finally settle the debate over whether or not the moon shot was a hoax.
