Unfortunately, it won't be the case. I'm downloading it from a server in my country, redirected from the official Opera download page.
I'm doing my part, I'm downloading Opera right now (although I only use for web development). Hopefully the power of Slashdot will be put to good use at least one time.
I can understand the geek factor, even the teaching / experimenting factor. But, if anybody is in the same situation, please donate those macs to a charity. There are milions of kids in this world that have no access to IT, and could benefit from this kind of equipment. Even if its net value is below 100$, you can bet some kid could play or learn on it.
Photoshop imports vector art (although once placed it cannot be edited), has vector layers (shapes), which you can modify with the bezier tools into any shape you want, and I hear CS2 will have some improvements in this area. Also, the font layers are editable, making for another type of vector layers.
I was thinking the other day of publishing my webcam on the internet. It would be like... me sitting in front of the computer programming all day. Ocasionally the cat would play with the cam and it would end up on the floor, adding new insights and novelty into the daily show.
Of course, it would only be pay per view. I've already started writing the business plan and will be submiting the plan for financing to a local group of investors. Wish me luck! I'll be famous one day!
Checked. They've added EcmaScript to the pdf, now it's possible to call websites with that. I think I read right here on./ about a company that offers pdf tracking.
But just like microsoft, they have open sourced some software (some framework to do GUIs, I remember).
I think the big companies see finished products as institutional assets, and framework as something they can share, as it will not directly compete with their products.
But the thing is, he says at the end: """ My boss, by the way, is Mark Shuttleworth. I'm working for his company, Canonical, as an interface designer. """
After almost 60 issues on general interface design and usability issues, he says he works for the promoter of this project. In a way, he's telling that these issues will not be overlooked in the future and future Ubuntu releases will try to solve this problem. And this brings me some confidence in the Ubuntu projects (although I may try Kubuntu, as I am biased toward KDE).
That's very very true. Unfortunately, being based on Firefox / Gecko, it won't create too much diversity.
On the other hand, being back up by a company, perhaps they will improve it and market it so that it will take a considerable portion of the market, and then the true standards, which the mozilla engine follows, will be respected by web designers.
Are you sure there's an average user in the open source world? From my impression, the open source / linux distribution providers are still in the "construction" phase, and they can still burn bridges in preparation for the times when their market share will not be single digits.
And look at Firefox: only after their last name change they're begining to make a difference for the real average user. With the name change came marketing, promotion and relevance in the real world.

Check your spellchecker. I thing is wrongly accepting nuclear as the correct form of "nucular".

Download a skin and stop bitching. Nuola is working quite nice for me.
get a real plugin (adblock) for a real browser (firefox) and that should solve your problems.
Are you stuck on 4.0?

From what I know, FreeCiv always had a very strong AI (stronger than CIV 2 and CIV).
Also, it extends the gameplay from CIV2 by adding networked multiplayer game.
I love Civilization as for turn based strategy, but you shouldn't forget another beloved and sadly, forgoten, series of games: Xcom / Ufo.

Perhaps in the future.

What about namebased vhosts?
Exactly what I've thought of first time I read this...

Not trolling or anything (Fedora is my first choice for a desktop), but I hope you've saved those mp3 codecs from some previous install :-)
don't forget about the lethal combination: shift + 2
The VH1 Classic that I get is reruns all over. And lots of bad 80s and 90s music.
The only worthwhile shows are Friday Rocks, the Rock Show and some oldies at 10am.
I'm not sure of how many radio stations you get in your area, but potentialy this could get you a lot more stations, each specialized on a genre.
At least that's what I guess should happen.
Is OCaml used in AI?
I love Joe's Garage! Zappa is saddly underrated these days.
Want some tapes? :-)
I thought it sounded a lot like some of Frank Zappa's tunes (look for Joe's Garage and Strictly Comercial).

This idea is not new. Patenting it means they've probably hired an army of lawyers that will try to change the IP laws, extending the patent duration.
Now let me take my paranoid hat off.
I love Cherry Coke! Too bad they don't make that in my country.
