    The cost of always locked cockpit doors is that no longer will children be able to go up and check out an airplane cockpit flown by a real life pilot. That's a pretty sad thing, as someone that did get to check out the cockpit many years ago.

    I set up my iPhone by typing in my Mobile Me account details and my IMAP account credentials. Pretty simple. Not that I use Mobile Me for email - I have my own postfix/courier setup for IMAP mail. Google can keep the private data of other suckers.

    Except NexentaStor (3.0.3) has an OpenSolaris upstream (which has gone away, by the way) kernel bug that hanged our Nexenta test box. Not a real good first impression.

    Nope. Step-mother and father purchased another year. They saw the obvious value in it! $99/yr for unlimited one-on-one tutelage on their own computer is a simple choice. Besides, if they didn't buy it for a second year I would have for them!

    No. You get them a Mac and buy them a year of 1-on-1 training from Apple. The number of support calls I've fielded went to zero from the old windows system. My step-mother is happy to call the Apple store, load up the iMac and have the Apple staff show her how to do something. It's wonderful.

    I'm not sure where you've been for the past 150 years but photography is not new.

    Who do you think has to prove innocence when the likeness of a man with no twins is caught on film shooting someone? I'd say a photograph is very compelling evidence and I'm pretty sure the courts agree, but, IANAL.

    As someone who has almost been run over by morons failing to stop at a stop sign and red light I endorse red-light and stop sign cameras. I say put the cameras at every intersection and raise the penalty for not stopping at stop signs or red lights.

    So, how do you move backward in the browser window history? *lots of mouse stuff*

    I use z to navigate backwards and x to move forwards. Opera has had these keymappings available for years and I can't begin to imagine how much strain on my wrists they have saved. Hands are usually on the keyboard anyways, why not use them?

    I prefer not to have my corpse desecrated and mutilated post mortem. It certainly doesn't matter after I die but having the comfort while living that my corpse will not be desecrated and mutilated is quite comforting indeed.

    So what, exactly is the problem? The speed limit is posted so there really isn't an excuse to ignore it. Why is there an addiction to speed when driving slowly - at the posted rate - is safer? I'm also curious at how many people, when pulled over for speeding tell the cop, "You know what, Copper, you got me. I was breaking the law and I'll accept and pay the ticket." Do people actually own up to breaking the law accept the consequences?

    (Probably not, it's easier to post on Slashdot!)

    The City wasn't locked out. Not when there is a built-in method to recover the keys by way of password recovery mechanisms in the Cisco gear the City used.
