I would love a link to a manufacturer that produces a PPC G4+ based laptop in a compact 12" durable lexan casing with a decent video card and tft which lasts between 4 and 6 hours on it's battery and doesn't weigh a ton. Oh, and preferably it has a comparable software offering running a stable, vendor supported, POSIX compliant OS and the usual pluggy things like firewire and a built-in burner. It would also be nice if looked half decent and stayed that way.. All for less than 1000$????

I think that consumers who own systems with rambus rimms should file a class action suit for damages incurred due to non-upgradability.. I have a buddy with Dell Systems stuck with 128 mb of ram 'cuz local vendors (dell included) no longer ship rimms...
And I read alot of mac-knocking about the cpu speed? Those nano boards Kevin used use via cpu's!! Seriously folks, crawl behind a mac and give the applications a whirl.. It's more than design and a nifty little box.
I guess it is a bit of "guns don't kill, people do" story here.. and as with everything in life, education is the key. Having schools teach kids what "safe driving" is for the internet might be a good way to engender the kind of behaviour in people that would make it a waste of time for this kind of abuse.
If it it is to be a "shove-in" dock then it would be a bit nonsensical and un-aesthetic, imagine a mini with a white ipod dangling out of its left side..
