    I say, what really differentiates these two charities is that Child's Play allows you to buy stuff on Amazon.com, which will be shippped directly to the Children's Hospital of your choice. For me, that is much easier than setting up a PayPal account to be able to donate to Get-Well Gamers.

    hands down one of the handiest firefox extensions i have ever seen. so you know those mailto links? yea so with webmail compose when you click a mailto link it will go to the compose page of your web-based email, propogating all relevent fields (to, subject). i also use gmail notifier, which basically puts a tiny icon on firefox that stays logged into gmail and will notify you if you have any new mail. gmail notifier + webmail compose = web-based email fully integrated into firefox = master p unnngggghhhhh

    there are plenty of rural areas within commuting distance of the northern virginia hub. a lot of loudon county is still very rural with the biggest towns being mere hamlets. even the mountains of west virginia near harpers ferry are technically within the 'DC metropolitan area'.

    but where I live (San Fransisco/Bay Area) NPR is the MOST liberal thing you can possible listen to.

    You live in the SF Bay Area (the most liberal metropolis in the USA) and you think NPR is the most liberal thing on the airwaves? Are you just feeling the contact high or have you really never listened to ANY other station in the Bay area? They're ALL liberal, even the Clear Channel operated stations.

    if these kids were actually raised in a "violent/unsafe neighborhood" then they would probably be a lot LESS likely to go out and kill because they wouldve realized the consequence of their action before doing it (i.e. people actualy die in the real world, and you go to jail for killing them). these kids that do these things are not normal. they have some form of mental defficiency that does not allow them to distinguish between right and wrong. none of them were high school drop outs. none of them grew up in violent neighborhoods. the only traits they share are mental problems and a lack of parental control.

    i've only played powerstone2, it was great fun in the dorm... its like smash bros but with a way more interactive 3D environment, made by capcom. basically, youre beating the shit out of each other, trying to pick up some 'power stones' so you can be the ultimate shitkicker. tons of fun.

    Yes. In the U.S. it is madated that every cellphone be able to freely call 911, irregardless of minutes left. it works even if you dont have a service plan. well, i guess the FCC isnt pure evil...

    oops, that was actually a 2 year chart. the 2yr chart shows red hat in a stronger position, but if you look at the 5 year chart you can see that both novell and red hat are joined at the hip and both are going up. volume has increased dramatically in the past year, both stocks are well worth owning for long term investments (but im sure half of /. already knew that)
