i dont think so. red hat is stronger than you think. while novell's recent press is astoundingly good news for novell, it will only have short term effects on red hats stock. they are in a prime position right now, how long will it take novell to start selling enterprise systems with its new OS? red hat is not going to sit and wait, they are going to do everything they can to maintain their grasp on the enterprise market and will make moves to secure more lucrative contracts before novell gets a chance to really start pushing its new OS. (a little side note: 5yr chart of RedHat and Novell.
whoa. i'm in the exact same boat as you, my original ps2 is in fine working condition, and i'm on my third gcn. its a shame because i really enjoy nintendo games. what were the problems with your cubes?
What I would really like to know is when will PDAs be able to smoothly run emulated GBA games, and will that day come before Nintendo introduces the GBA successor?
with the increased amount of games now being developed due to the large market, there are a TON of crap games. however, there are also a TON of great games as well. the fallacy of your argument is that you simply aren't aware of the good games-- all you know is whats popular. look at your punk rock analogy, yes punk is and was mainstream, and a lot of the mainstream punk bands are absolute shit. but theres still a TON of punk bands that aren't mainstream and that fucking rock, its just that most people haven't heard them. but because of the increased awareness of punk rock now BECAUSE its mainstream, there are more people who make punk music who would have otherwise never even thought about making music.
honestly, how can you say "the good old days of gaming had a lot more gems than today's bunch"? think about how many "gems" you can name. then think about the time frame from whence all those "gems" were developed. a decade? more? i can name at least 5 modern gems that come out EVERY YEAR. you simply just have not been exposed to a good modern gaming collection.
actually the original poster was incorrect and that skewed my response to the linked article about power... i thought the original poster was talking about pre-desertstorm iraq. he was not. he is incorrect, post-desertstorm iraq was still a pretty shitty place to live. the linked article says that power is back to above pre-USAinvasion levels... which is good news, but it is NOWHERE near pre-desertstorm levels. blame it on USA, blame it on Hussein; its both of their faults and Iraqis are suffering the consequences.
power maybe back but theres barely anything left to be able to use the power, let alone the infrastructure to distrobute it...
going back to the original poster, he is correct. pre-desertstorm iraq was doing well, but it goes back further; pre-gulfwar (iraq vs iran) iraq had THE best schools and one of the highest standards of living of any middle eastern nation. its easy to understand why these people were (and are) fed up with USA and Hussein.
Its a skit based show on comedy central.. one of the skits was a spoof of a company policy video shown to employees at a copy store (think kinkos)
"if a customer brings in a windows disk, tell them we only use macintosh. if they bring in a mac disk, tell them we only use windows... if they bring in a linux disk, tell them the computers are down."
search your hdd for 'realsched', dont delete it (else it will automagically be reinstalled), just change the name to realsched.old or something. viola, no more message center system tray popups!
what kind of guess is that? do you mean if someone sent in the seals from different games then those games would have their own calendar page instead? c'mon, use youre head.
i think you are confused. of course its blatant advertising because its made by Nintendo. "or can it be confirmed that it was produced by Nintendo"-- did you even read the site? it states, "Nintendo ran a Famicom 20th anniversary campaign in Japan over the summer where people who bought select games could send in these special proof of purchase seals to get a chance to win some prizes". voila.
forget hooking it up to tivo. follow the mp3 player style and let us download mpeg/wmp/mov/rm/etc onto it. businessmen will want it for trips, students will want it for the bus(and class), everyone will want it for porn... needless to say, if you build it we will come. (pun intended:)
i haven't "played" it in years actually, but its quite the interesting online society. MOO stands for MUD Object Oriented. Anyone can apply for a 'programmers bit' which means you can program and create your own objects, features, etc... of course some things are limited (you cant disconnect players, you can only move players that have that option turned on). there is also special areas made for MUD combat programmed by regular players. having said all that, i'm sure lambda is mostly dead now with MMORPGs starting to feature more and more social aspects.
disclaimer-- its been about 5 years since i last logged on so who knows how much it has changed since then..
If you absolutely MUST have 48kHz sampling rate then i don't know. If you're just going to be recording Phish and Greatful Dead concerts then all you need is a MiniDisc recorder. MD has pretty much taken over the DAT market.
Also attributing to the success of Asteroids was the fact that it was the first machine that let people enter their initials for high scores. Its sad that Atari couldn't last, I think their decline was in large part due to Yu Suzuki's incredible arcade innovation over at Sega. They just couldn't keep up.
Keep in mind the RIAA is not the only organization that owns copyrights on music. Whats stopping some other company from taking advantage of these admissions of guilt?
well, according to me, they already lost credibility by using video game characters instead of the people that created them. this is NOT for paying respect to the brilliant people in the industry-- its nothing more than a publicity stunt to shovel more kids into the metreon.

no, because crap has been a consistent factor of ABC programming.
Crowd of people - "YES, WE ARE ALL INDIVIDUALS"
Lone voice - "I'm not"

Dude, the game was broadcast on ABC.
that kid probably learned it from watching G4 the cable tv videogame network. thats where i learned it.

i don't understand, how would a 70-nation simultaneous release avoid "the text messaging let down"?

HUH? Does your uncle Sam live in Australia? RTFA
It doesn't, he misread Disney as Dali.
you beat me to it! albeit rather unelegantly...
